Review summary

The number of photographers on the Promenade deck was was too much compared to our previous trips on the Valor. They've actually removed some seating to cram in more booths and they are there 24/7. That being said, the Valor has a great crew, most of whom are friendly and responsive. The ship is clean and well maintained, but it is needing the upcoming drydock to replaced cabin draperies, furniture, and bedding.

Service and Staff

The only reason I'm giving a 4 instead of 5 is because the Washington Dining Room insisted on assigning our party of four to a booth each and every morning, and we had to request a table and having to wait until one came up again. I requested this from the desk at the restaurant two days straight, explaining my wife and brother were disabled. They never listened. This was the only issue we had with any of the staff. By contrast, we spoke to the Lincoln Room the first evening and they had a table ready for us every time.

Ocean view room with two windows. We had to request a second seat (it had no couch) and the mini-fridge was very loud. Everything was taken care of by 3:30pm. And the fridge was replaced with a new one!

The terminal was well organized, clean, and staffed with great people. We arrived for our appointment and were on board quickly.

Cozumel, Mexico

We HATE Carnival's long shopping mall every passenger must pass through. It's crowded at best. We call it "The Gauntlet."

Progreso (Merida), Mexico

Those who tried to go ashore were met with protestors (not about cruising) but were unable to get off the transport bus.
