Review summary

Great time, we did experience 2 night were our neighboring cabins play music too loud in the early morning hours (1-4am) and partied a little too hard in their room. This was the worst experience on the ship for me. The employees were all amazing. I wished Carnival, maybe it’s all cruise ships, wouldn’t nickel and dime for everything. They offer a drink package, if you buy drinks individually there is a “service charge”, just call it tips as it’s misleading, we want to take care of the employees. Offer a picture package. Budgets are important to families on vacation and getting all of this info up front would better help sell these services. Overall a great cruise and well entertained.

Embarkation

Waited about an hour to board, was in early group so nothing was open when we boarded.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Drinks were wonderful, food was just ok. Plenty of variety for food but outside of Guys Burgers it was all bland. We did have steak this trip was wanted to try other food options in dining room. Found the appetizers to be the best. I do have higher expectations for food. I had a variety of drinks and they were all great!

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Loved the trivia! Pools were a little small for the crowd. The staff were all amazing hosting these events.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
We watched both stage shows, both comedians and went to piano bar 3 nights. This is my favorite part of cruises and they were all good.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All around amazing service!

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Getting to some areas were confusing at first because some elevators couldn’t access certain parts of the ship. Took a few days to get the hang of that. It is an older ship so some smells were present, our room had a bit of a smoke smell. Some parts of the ship had a stagnant water smell. Outside of that my expectations were met. Did enjoy the American theme.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Plenty of room and storage, we had 2 adults, shower was great for a cruise ship. Beds were comfortable, balcony needs attention as it was very dated and needed some TLC.

Ship tip

Level 5 you can access any part of the ship. If you get lost find level 5.

Ports of call

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
Beautiful port, the locals are pushy so be ready. Plenty of stuff to do just outside port.

Progreso (Merida), Mexico

1 out of 5
Rated low because there was a protest from locals and we couldn’t access the city.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Very fast, once we exited ship we were in our car within 15 minutes.

When did the tip become a service fee?does it actually say that on the receipt now? And there are photo packages look in your cruise manager under pixels $99/5, $199/10 & a canvas & 299/15 & a canvas

I’m cheap. I only leave mandatory tips because everything is already overpriced.

Appreciate your feedback. The casino and shops can’t be open until you have set sail. People often confuse the boarding times that you choose as the time you get onto the ship with check in time. No one can actually board until the ship has been cleared. I agree a photo package would be nice. Glad you enjoyed your cruise.
