The ship had some hiccups along the way (no a/c, electricity randomly going out etc..) We made the best of it. The entertainment wasn’t there. That’s what we look forward to. The shows! I would never sail on this ship again but any time with my family is a good time. The coolest part was our room was right over where the pilot came onboard and we got to see it. It was amazing. Kinda scary because we were in a storm that night, but so fascinating to watch. Wish I could add a video of it.
Embarkation

Was pretty smooth once they got people moving and in into sections.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
The main dining was terrible! The service was slow and the food wasn’t good. My husband loves the bread they bring out in the basket, with the oil and balsamic vinegar. Well the basket is no longer given. We were given ONE small piece of bread and no oil and vinegar. When we ask for some they told us they didn’t have it anymore. The very same night we went to the buffet around 7:30 i think..(we ate early in the dining room, food wasn’t good) and they had mounds of bread and oil and balsamic vinegar 🤔 The last night we sat on the other side of the dining room and people over there also had oil and vinegar. I know it sounds petty, but it’s bread and condiments! We lost weight on this ship!
Eagles Aft Lounge

Our bartender here was Mr. Smiles. He was the sweetest young man. On my goodness I just loved him!! You never had to wait for anything. We had the drink package and he just kept them coming. We went here every evening for karaoke ( nothing else to do) 🫤
American Lobby and Atrium Bar

The lady bartenders were AMAZING!! So sweet and nice. Our dining room was right behind this bar so we were there every night. We also would go during the day sometimes just to converse with them. Can’t say enough about them.
Onboard Activities

Not a lot to do. Pools for the day and karaoke at night…
Dolphin Pool
5 out of 5
This pool was adults only and they made sure of it! They had a guy on patrol all day everyday. They were very quick to tell children or parents with children who tried to get in that it was adults only. The bartenders here were fantastic. I’m not sure how they remember everyone’s name and who is with who..etc.
Entertainment

Stage shows were awful. Music was good though. We found ourselves board at times..
Service and Staff

I would give 5 stars but the dining room not giving us but one piece of bread and no oil/vinegar….had to take a star away.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The ship was old but clean overall. I actually liked the layout of this ship. I could find my way around it. The serenity deck had 2 hot tubs, then in the back of the ship you have 2 more huge hot tubs and a good size adults only pool.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
The size was good for two people. We get our 2 older boys (22-17) their own cabin beside us. It’s very dated. We had an ocean view room but had to keep the curtains closed at all times because our air conditioning wasn’t working properly. We thought we were the only ones until we heard others in the hallway talking about their not working. We called maintenance several times and never had any success. We had to go up to the lobby areas to sit just to cool off at times..it was rough. At least we had a working shower and toilet. Some people didn’t! Our kids had to call and get their shower fixed because it would only put out scorching hot water. They did fix that problem. The room was overall clean…
Ship tip
It’s an older ship so be prepared for anything…don’t be alarmed if you are randomly walking down the hallway and the ship goes dark..they will get the lights on in just a minute. Lol Unless they got new entertainers you will find yourself at karaoke every night! We got up and left the shows..that’s how bad they were.
We got there the day before our cruise and stayed literally across the street from the port at the Hampton Inn. Highly recommend this hotel. It was a very pleasant experience. We took a Uber to downtown New Orleans because we had never been. It was fun, but probably wouldn’t go back to bourbon street ever again…it’s very nasty! The French Quarter area is pretty though.
Hottest place I have ever been!! 🥵 They do have big pool for everyone but it was very dirty. I guess thats to be expected?? It’s a small area with a lot of people. But we had a good time.
I think they had a typo on our disembarkation form. It’s clearly said 5th floor, but got there and it was for faster to fun people. We just kinda sat in the very very back unnoticed. Some of our family (group of 14) paid for FTF they were seated in the very font of the lounge. When they said FTF could go we were some of the first out of there. We beat them home by a hour…might I add they literally got on the ship 10-15 minutes before us too. Faster to Fun isn’t worth the money in my opinion. We didn’t feel guilty because we went where the paperwork told us to and I had it in had for reference. Lol
So, we just got off this ship a few weeks ago and never had a issue. The power thing does suck. The MDR is good. We've never gotten a basket of bread on any Carnival ship. They will bring you as much bread as you want also...
Appreciate your detailed feedback. Sounds like you had a poor server because they usually enjoy giving bread. Sorry you had so many issues. Glad you enjoyed your family!
