I am 61 years old, has had 2 strokes, and complications from them, and also disabled. This would have been my first cruise, however, due to my health condition and the CDC report stating to avoid long trips and cruises. I didn't travel.

I ask you to please assist me in this matter. My name is Doretha Joiner. I was scheduled for 03/09/2020; Room 7223. Unfortunately, I did not make the trip because of the CDC report requesting anyone over 60 with health problems to avoid long trips and cruises. I am in Liberty Texas, and even though I was unable to go, I still drove my granddaughter to New Orleans and dropped her off which is a 565 miles round trip. I am on a fixed income and either need the money for the ticket refunded or please let me make use of the ticket at a later date.

The representative unfortunately, says that I could not receive a refund or rescheduling of another trip. If it was not for me following the instructions of the CDC report, I would have traveled. I am single and on a fixed income and does not have 400 to loose. I am asking please for assistance with my situation.

It's unfortunate. You could have had someone else go in your place and have that person pay you for the cruise. We did that when we planned a college graduation cruise for my daughters and one of their friends could no go. Another friend could and it was arranged with Carnival in one phone call

Sorry to say, I highly doubt you will get refunded the amount you are requesting, however, you may have a slim chance of being refunded the port charges and taxes, which would at least be around $100 or so. When I had to cancel 2 of 4 people only days before a cruise, they refunded that amount. But again, I called and explained the situation beforehand. Good luck and God bless, scary times for us in the over 60 group.

You should of called Carnival and canceled cruise. Since someone went anyway I am pretty sure you will get no money back without insurance.

Probably not if you didn't contact them before the trip and the person in your room made it and you didn't.

I’m sorry that you were not able to make your trip as scheduled. If you had travel insurance, (depending on your coverage) you may be able to make a claim on it. However, you should contact Carnival directly. They will not respond to your posts on this app. I wish you the best of luck!

Let me rephrase did you contact Carnival in advance to let them know you were unable to provide the documentation and to remove you from the booking?
