This was an affordable, excellent first cruise experience. Just waiting to book the next one and will stick with Carnival most likely.
Embarkation

Smooth process. Porters ready and willing. No luggage lost. They know what they’re doing.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
The Food was absolutely superb. Nothing I ordered all week was less than stellar. From salad to meats to Pizza to burgers!
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
Got tubs were great although crowded at times. The art throughout the ship was beautiful including several Pino’s. Pools were good but also crowded and salt water. All the lounge areas were comfortable and relaxing. Stateroom was top notch, and always clean!
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The shows in the Ivanhoe theater were mostly great. Definitely talented performers. I didn’t care for the Country show as choreographed pretend instrument playing just ruined it for me. However it fit right in with the 70s disco show. Always plenty to do on the ship.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Our room steward Iwan was perfect!! Learned our names almost immediately and was always immediately available. Found me a band-aid when I got a toe blister, always asked about our day and nights. A great guy! Waiters were always friendly and fast. All crew members were top notch and always friendly and outgoing.
Ship Quality

Spent a night in the city prior to departing. Mini- vacation prior to vacation. New Orleans was all we expected and a great cultural experience. French Quarter is a must. Hotel Maison St. Charles was a great hotel at a reasonable cost. Clean and close.
Went to Mr Sanchos beach resort. Smaller than I imagined but had a great time. 15 minute cab ride both ways. Loved our friendly and helpful cab driver. A great welcome to Mexico.
This was our cultural highlight. From the port we took a free shuttle. Then we just walked a couple of blocks from the drop off and drank in the city. Found an authentic family owned Taqueria for authentic Carnitas Tacos and Chiccharonnes Tacos for 1$ each.
It was a jarring experience to see the armed police carrying machine guns at the ready.
