Food and Dining

I ate everywhere except the seafood shack, the steak house and the grill. Everything I had was great.
Mongolian Wok

Very good but in my opinion, not worth the wait.

BBQ and it is good. It’s not Guys pig and anchor but they have the same stuff and they use Guys sauce so it’s basically Guys pig and anchor

Sports Deck

There is a volleyball court and basketball court. I didn’t use them but you have to pass through them to play mini golf and there was several teenagers up there enjoying the courts.
Serenity
5 out of 5
I didn’t use it, I just walked through but it was pretty much empty on a sea day. Hot tubs had 4 people in one and 2 in the others.
Pool

Way to crowded. Shoulder to shoulder people.
Photo Gallery
5 out of 5
I thought the pixels gallery was good and the photographers wasn’t overly pushy. They came up each night at dinner service but I just told them “no thanks” and they said ok and moved on.
Entertainment

Ivanhoe Theater

Nice theater. We watched the 80’s rock show and it was really good.
Carnival Seaside Theater
5 out of 5
Good selection of movies. I would caution you not to sit around the hot tubs because the kids play in the hot tubs the entire movie but if you sit away from the hot tub it is very enjoyable.
Glory Atrium
5 out of 5
Good selection of musicians there and trivia as well. I would like to see the trivia moved elsewhere because when the bar is full it can get rather loud so it’s hard to focus on the trivia.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
I’m giving this a 5 because I’m basing it on everyone except the cruise director. Our head waiter and wait team was excellent as was our room steward.
The cruise director was Kevin and while on the ship he was very good. But he happened to go on our shore excursion and was on the same tour bus as us. He was pretty rude to our tour guide and was extremely rude to the lady working the souvenir shop at the Mayan ruins. The tour guide was explaining several of the ruins to us and when he was finished he said I will give you about 30 minutes to explore on your own, Kevin said “we would have had an hour if we wasn’t stuck listening to you”. The other occurrence was in the souvenir shop, he went off on the lady over the prices and told her she should be ashamed of herself. I don’t think he was the face of Carnival that they would have expected. I won’t take another cruise where he is the director
Ship Quality

I thought the layout was very good. It wasn’t hard to get from one end to the other at all.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
The cabin was nice, your typical carnival balcony. The reason I only gave it a 3 is because we was directly over the comedy club. Wow was it loud. I realized this after we booked but I didn’t think it would be that bad, it was that bad. So, if your someone who stays out till 1-2 am you would be fine. I’m lucky to make it past 10 and the comedy club goes till after midnight. The other small issue, we had rooms 6438,6442,6450 and was told the balconies would all open. Well the divider between 6442 and 6450 can’t be opened up. But no the end of the world.
Ship tip
Take the 5 day over the 4 day. A lot of times they are really close in price and Progresso is amazing. Book the Mayapan ruins lazy river cenote swim through Carnival. My absolute favorite port and excursion. Progresso doesn’t get the recognition it deserves.
This is a hidden gem. Most people you this port to rest after Cozumel. But it is an absolutely beautiful place. We went about 1 hour 45 minute inland and it gets more beautiful as you go.
Book the Mayapan ruins lazy river cenote swim it’s a Carnival only excursion but well worth the money.
Cozumel is great and it’s beautiful but it is very busy as it is the most popular port in the Caribbean. We did Mr. Sanchos for the second time and our service wasn’t the best this time.
I absolutely love this city. Go early, and eat at Oceana grill at the corner of Bourbon and Conti. Skip Cafe Demond and go about 2-3 blocks to the west to Cafe Beignet.
Your typical New Orleans disembark. I haven’t been to another port so I can’t compare but it took us from the time they called our floor to the time we was load and moving about 40 minutes
I 100% agree with you about choosing Café Beignet over the Café du Mond. A lot less hassle, better selection of pastries, better prices, and the beignets are just as good as the originals.
