Review summary

This was a family celebration cruise honoring my Mom's birthday and daughter's 15th anniversary. We had an amazing time. The Valor staff took great care of us and treated my Mom like royalty. Omar and his team in the Washington Dining Room were gracious and attentive. The layout of the Valor was easy to learn. The shows were fun, the country music show story line was a little cheesy for my taste but still enjoyed the evening. Joey was great at BINGO, funny and very entertaining. Would recommend a cruise on the Valor without any reservations.

Washington Dining Room

Omar and his team we're the best. These guys treated my Mom like royalty. We had dinner here every night of our cruise. The food was okay but not great. The service made up for the lack luster food offerings.

American Lobby and Atrium Bar

5 out of 5

Enjoyed the lobby loved the open, soaring space. Wonderful variety of music.

The Dream Bar

3 out of 5

This bar is adjacent to the Casino. The smoke was very bad. They need better smoke eater equipment. I only hung out here for the great Latin music and dancing.

Lindy Hop Piano Bar

5 out of 5

The piano bar was my favorite. Both performers we're very funny and engaging. Lots of laughs, a great time.

Guy's Burger Joint

Fantastic burgers and fries. My favorite of the lunch restaurants tried. Loved the "shop rag" napkins, great touch to the theme.

Cabin / Stateroom

The cabin was comfortable and Ida, my steward kept it nice and clean. The only drawback for this cabin is that it is adjacent to the crew service elevator. I could hear the elevator rumbling all hours of the late night/early morning. Most nights I was so tired from all the activities we participated in I fell asleep quickly.

Ship tip

Make sure you download the Carnival Hub and activate as soon as you board the ship. The maps will save you time. You can select the activities you want to attend and you will get a reminder. It's great for hooking up with the other folks you are cruising with.

Disembarkation

We docked a little later than planned so it appeared to cause a backlog for those that selected late disembarking. We chose late trying to avoid the glut of folks trying to run to airport departures. We we're told everyone had to be off the ship by 10:45 with the late dock everyone got crunched up.
