Review summary

I had a great time, even though it was really rocky the first few days. I can't wait to go on my next one! We had a few wait staff visit our tables at dinner perform magic tricks for the kids and even the adults were entertained!

Embarkation

4 out of 5
We were able to get on the boat fairly quickly, no long lines to wait in.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Wait staff were very friendly, always available to to get whatever you needed. Food was delicious and I was able to try things I hadn't had before.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
We mostly explored the ship because the activities onboard were not of much interest to us. The pool deck parties were fun to attend and the movies were good. I enjoyed the casino, but it would've been nice if that was a non smoking area.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The DJ's were good. I loved watching the wait staff sing and dance at dinner. The ice sculpture guy was cool, but there were too many people crowded around him so it was hard to see, even from an upper level.

Children's Programs

I didn't go to any children's programs

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
5 stars for the wait staff! They were excellent! They were friendly, fun, and were always helping us with whatever we needed. 1 star for our steward. We saw him the first day long enough to tell him when we wanted the room cleaned each day. After that we never saw him, he didn't talk to us, and we had to find him the final night because we hadn't received our luggage tags.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was always clean and in a very timely manner. For the most part we were able to figure out where everything was fairly quickly.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The cabins are small, but we really only needed it to sleep and shower in. The beds are kind of hard, but manageable. The shower overflows every time unless you take a camp style shower and turn it off while getting soaped up.

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

4 out of 5
This was our home port, no excursion.

Cozumel, Mexico

4 out of 5
We went during hurricane season, so the gulf was churned up from Harvey, Irma, and Katia. The normally, incredibly beautiful beach of Passion Island was full of seaweed and the water was not clear and could not be swam in. The second excursion boat arrived and didn't even dock because the captain thought it was a safety hazard. Nonetheless, we were able to find some beach treasures and iguanas, the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.

Progreso (Merida), Mexico

5 out of 5
Originally we were scheduled for the Family Beach excursion, but they said there had been a communication issue so instead we got to go to an all inclusive resort. The resort was beautiful, family friendly, included swimming pools, beach access, a buffet, and delicious adult beverages. The water was calm enough to swim in and was a pretty green color (although I'm sure it's clearer when the water isn't all hurricane churned). We found a lot of beach treasurers to bring home and had a great time with our guide Mario!

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Quick and painless.
