Review summary

A great 5 day scheduled, but 12 day cruise with an unscheduled port in New Orleans, twice, all due to Hurricane Harvey's landfall near our disembarkation port. The crew did great keeping us entertained.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Priority embarkation is always pleasant. We got on the ship early enough to eat, drink 🍹 and be merry before the ship 🚢 left the dock.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food, as usual, was great and plentiful. Large variety of food and sweets each day. Dinners were elegant and chef 👨‍🍳 created, luscious meal. Picture perfect. If you leave hungry, it's your own fault.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Love the shows in the theatre, 3rd floor lounge, lido deck and in the casino. Night owl comedy I could not attend. They need to have earlier shows.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
They have great singers with a variety of different style music 🎶.

Children's Programs

Kids are grown and gone.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The ship director, Frankie, was wonderful and entertaining. The stewards were the best. You ask and you will receive. Waiters were prompt and personal. They all greeted you with a smile.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Staff worked hard cleaning up behind guests and trying to stay on top of cleanliness. Loved the American decor through out the ship with golden eagles 🦅 and famous Presidents and First Ladies of America.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Spacious cabin with more drawers and closets than we could use. Flat screen 📺 and DVD VCR players for your convenience. Stewards kept it clean and orderly. Loved the towel animals each scheduled day. They did stop on the 7 unscheduled days aboard the ship 🚢.

Ship tip

Do not bring a power strip. The are taking them away. Instead, bring an extension cord with multiple outlets on the end. Bring a multiple USB box to plug in for your devices.

Ports of call

Galveston, Texas

5 out of 5
Has great restaurants, hotels/motels and bars. Beach front was great and fairly clean.

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
As always, this port is great with a lot of entertainment for you. The water 💦 is the most beautiful of any port I have seen. Have to go outside the box for a great experience.

Progreso (Merida), Mexico

3 out of 5
It was ok. Did not do much outside the box at this port. Hurricane Harvey had disrupted the skies a bit for this location.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Fast disembarkation when you carry your own luggage. Very friendly faces to help you with the process.

ohylpresnell is 100% incorrect. The extra days do indeed count towards VIFP status.

loves2cruise2    7 years ago

Yes, they counted the extra days for vifp

Good and bad. Nice being on the ship the extra week for free. Bad if I had a flight back and had to work.

No, the extra days do not count towards vifp status. Only the days you pay for count.
