Review summary

When Carnival changed ships the two adjoining balcony rooms I booked and paid extra for were changed. My husband and I were in 8204 and my kids were in 8387 opposite ends of the ship. I spent 2 hours on the phone prior to the cruise to get this taken care of with no success. Although Carnival eventually compensated us for this it was a hassle. The food and service in the dining room the first night was beyond terrible. It did, however, improved later on. Friendly engaged staff were hit and miss. It was challenging to get important information from them when English was not their first language. I don't think I'll be booking another cruise through Carnival. The negative comments I heard about the cruise line were validated.

Sorry about the room issue but I was on Valor in August with 80 friends in our group. Never a beyond terrible meal, you can always order something different. Not sure what important info you need from staff as most is communicated through the tv or fun times but in 10 cruises we have always understood their accents and never had any worker unfriendly in fact quite the opposite with all of our group whi sailed extensively with Carnival. You may be better off with Celebrity.

2 seadays until diamond, been sailing since 1999 Carnival does a great job last two cruises staff is doing more to call you by name. We sail Carnival for perks, price and itinerary.
