Review summary

Ships crew was over the top accommodating.   Food was very good and the two song and dance productions were excellent.  The comedy shows, especially with Kim,  were very good, but use caution on the "R" shows. She could be the funniest lady on the planet.  Didn't care for the hypnotist show.  Lounging around by the pool in beautiful Caribbean weather listening the DJ or the calypso band was hard to beat.  Overall we were very pleased with the cruise.  I see reviews sometimes when people complaint about everything in the world and I just never see this.   Relax and get in your mind that 90% of the cruise is going to be great and the other 10% is usually the embarkation, safety drill and debarkation.

Room steward Edy was fantastic. Cabin seemed several feet wider than other cruises we have been on.

Ship tip

The any time dining was great. 6pm not so busy. 7pm can be very busy. Dinner at 6pm, comedy show at 7:30pm and main show at 9pm worked out well.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida Did not visit port

Arrived the day before the cruise and stayed at the Days Inn on Cocoa Beach. A nice hotel 1/2 block from the beach. Walking distance to the famous Cocoa Beach Pier where you can dine and watch the surfers and fishermen. A bonus was the $6 per person shuttle right to the ship.

Oranjestad, Aruba Did not visit port

A nice 3 1/2 hour tour with EL Tours booked through SkymilesCruises.com. Interesting stop at the Aloe Factory.

Bonaire, Netherlands Special Municipality Did not visit port

Very little to see on Bonaire, but our guide with Jentis Tours booked through Skymiles Cruises.com was Ms Bonaire 2016. She spoke for about 3 straight hours non stop with an abundance of information about the little island country.

Grand Turk Island Did not visit port

Booked an Island 2 hour tour through Skymiles Cruises.com with Papa J's tours. Not much to see on Grand Turk, but we did see a lot of donkeys. Had no problems with the tour.

Valor will be going out of galveston starting dec. 15th. The Liberty sister ship will go out of fla. We just got the news this morning. No matter what ship the carnival cruise line is wonderful.

I really like the Valor! We did an 8 day in Oct 2016, and will be doing a 4 day in Dec 2016, and again in Feb 2017. Overall a good ship, with great friendly crew, decent food choices (except deserts.. lol), good music, good comedy, and clean ship!
