Review summary

The cruise started out exciting until we found out that the casino's were on the 5th Deck and SMOKING was allowed inside the Casino's. The amount of smoke was terrible and additionally all the nightclubs were on this deck also. So me and my guest never got an opportunity to go dancing any were on the 5 Deck of the Valor. Terrible layout for US done smokers!

Where are the smoking areas on the valor besides the casino?

the smoke smell was horrible. I could smell it even in jewelry shop. Quite disappointing considering I'm allergic to it. I avoided it at all costs but was forced to endure it the one time I wanted to buy a bottle of wine.

Geoffvallone, Ignore these ppl attacking you for your review. They do that to anyone with a three or less rating. You should see the thread under my thread you would think they are paid to shift sentiment on social media.

I just got off of the valor 3 days ago. I only smelt a smoke smell in the stair well one time. Never smelt any smoke whatsoever in any of the night clubs or comedy clubs. I am an ex smoker and completely hate the smell of cigarettes now. I had no problem with the short time I spent walking thru the casino. There are always alternate routes you can take to avoid the casinos.

I have been on lots of ships....... I will have to agree with the OP the lay out on 5th deck is poor for the non-smokers.   I was on the Glory and did as little as possible on the 5th deck.   The smell of smoke from the open casino even got into the piano bar that had doors to it,  same with the comedy club. There was a good band playing in the walk way but we did not stay because of the smoke.  I also think do to demographics of guest Carnival gets a higher % of smokers then other cruise lines.

That's your complaint? That's almost like saying that you're against gambling and then you go to Vegas and didn't expect to see people.......gambling.

This is part of Princess cruise lines smoking policy. The Casino and Casino Bar are non-smoking areas on board, with the exception of designated slot machines where guests are permitted to smoke only while playing at those machines. All table games are non-smoking. The Casino will also have one or more non-smoking nights (6 pm to closing), depending on length of the cruise. Speculation on my part, they do seem to cater to a more mature crowd that may have a greater amount of health issues.

You can see the ship's layout prior to booking. And most cruises allow smoking in casinos. Had been on the Valor 4 times, the smoking smell only stayed in casino area.

I think all casinos on all cruise ships allow smoking, night clubs too. I'm not a smoker either but not gonna let that stop me from having fun or ruin my vacation

Just wondering....what were the other 4-6 cruises you have been on where the ships were non-smoking or even the casinos? When I sailed the Caribbean Princess last April, there were Non-Smoking day's in the casino and on the off day's, smoking was only permitted on the Starboard side of the casino. In the case of your "Tip", if you are a non-smoker, and smoking bothers you as much as you seem to communicate, you may not want to sail on any major cruise line as they ALL permit smoking in designated areas.
