Review summary

This was our first Carnival cruise and we were so looking forward to it. Many friends recommended the company due to their outstanding kitchen.

What a disappointment!!! Not a single day was the food the way it should be. Breakfast: cold pancakes, only toast no normal bread, waffles-cold.

scrambled eggs scrambled like mashed potatoes.

Menu restaurant- choices limited taste bland over or under cooked food, bread was burned every single day. Breaded escargots..really? lava cake- we were eating raw dough. One day the dessert menu was so bad I didn't even pick anything and settled for a cup of coffee. Overall a 0 for your kitchen

Carnival's food is not 5 star but its definitely fine for the week, I can't complain. I've never had a problem finding something I like to eat onboard. I would never complain. Any day I'm on the sea cruising, beats any day on land!! I love cruising PERIOD. :).

So no other complaints? just the food? I have been on a few Carnival cruises and while the food is definitely not five star, it is not as bad either. I am a trained chef and tend to be picky when other people cook my food... But seeing as I am on vacation with the man of my dreams just us no kids I tend to disregard stupid stuff... As long as I am seated across the table from the most gorgeous man ever (on the ocean for crying out loud) I'm happy... perhaps try not to complain over every single detail and just enjoy being on vacation.

I'm sure everybody's cruise was better than theirs. You get, what you give. If you wish to whine & complain about your vacation, just stay home.

I have been on multiple Carnival Cruises and although I can agree that the food is not 5 star quality, I go into it expecting it. I have never had a horrible meal on board any of the ships but I have never had an outstanding one either. It is just food. I am not going on vacation just to eat though. And I do prefer the dining room over the buffet, especially for breakfast and dinner. I hope my experience is better than yours on the Valor. We sail on Sept. 26.

This must have been a totally new crew, which never happens....or in all probability you just looked for a subject to complain about and you couldn't stop once you started. we have been on 15 Carnival cruises and NOT ONE was as you describe my suggestion, stay home and walk to McDonalds.

U must've got a bad kitchen staff. Menu has always been good for us. Great steals and chicken. Warm chocolate melting cake is delish and fruit cups, soups and ice cream including sherbet has always been good. Breakfast buffet good unless u don't get up out of bed and eat very late.
