Sunny Week !

Sail Date: June 08, 2014

Reviewed: 2 years ago

Traveled As: Family w/older children

Room Type: Balcony

Overall, this is a fantastic cruise with a great itinerary! This was our 6th cruise and we had an enjoyable week.

We had a balcony stateroom, with 2 adults and 1 teenager. Room location was mid ship on the Empress Deck, on the odd number cabin side. We had no noise and very smooth sailing. Excellent views when docking and departing each day. Would recommend a room on the odd numbered side.

Food - better than previous Carnival cruises. We ate breakfast on the Lido deck and dinner in the dining room. We had excellent dining room service.

Cleanliness - top notch.

Entertainment - a little better than average, but you take this cruise for the ports of call, not the entertainment on board. We miss the steel drum band on the Lido deck.

There were very few children on the cruise (week of June 8th). Older kids activities were not appealing to our daughter, so she never went to the club.

Excellent cruise for the money we paid. Go and enjoy!

San Juan, Puerto Rico
Leave your bags off and go check old Old San Juan for the day. The Forts are within walking distance and very pleasant to visit.
Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas
Go to St. John !!
Bridgetown, Barbados
Nice beach at the Boatyard. $5 pp taxi to get there and $15 pp to get in, includes drink and ride back to ship. Take cash for food and fees. Nice for the day, but probably would not go back.
Castries, St. Lucia
Booked the Cruises Only tour Sail to Soufree and it was EXCELLENT! Well worth every penny!!
Basseterre, St. Kitts
Booked tour with Greys Excursions (found on TripAdvisor) and it was one of the best excursions we have ever done. St. Kitts is beautful and so much to see.
Philipsburg, St. Maarten
No excursion needed here. Take the water taxi right from the port, for $7 pp all day trips, over to the town. Huge beach and nice boardwalk area. Walk around the town. Take cash for the chairs/umbrellas/food/drinks. We rented 2 chairs, umbrella and included 6 beers for $20 from a place called NuLuv.

Choose odd numbered cabin, mid ship. Empress Deck.
