Do one of the art auctions. Free champagne and you learn a lot of art and differnet artist. Don't worry you are not pressured to buy anything.
Take a cab and spend the day at Sunset beach watching the planes fly over your head. Make sure you are there by 10:00, it gets very crowded later in the day. Lounge chairs and umbrella, 10.00 person, beer 3.00 and mixed drinks 3-4.00, oh yea the beach great white sand!
