Review summary
While we were a bit concerned about cruising on Carnival with all the negative news, plus we'd heard it was a real party ship, while there's nothing wrong with that we weren't looking for things to be wild.
A friend told us to try it once - Omg it was the best of our 13 cruises to date! The value we paid was less than what we've paid on Royal Caribbean, NCL. We didn't have a room with a balcony on the other cruise liners and we paid much more. This was the first time we had a room with a balcony, big and spaceous - the staff was outstanding very friendly always willing to help. The Valor took special attention too keeping everything clean and wiped down at all times.
Food in all areas that we dined were delicious, we never had to want for anything. Loved the "Cheers" progam. Loved knowing there was a "Self-laundry w/iron". Even thought they did offer a service for laundry.
The Port of Calls were wonderfu and beautiful, the people of the islands were all friendly - our favorites Ports were Barbados & St. Kitts. But each one offered their own special style. We loved taking the Segway rides - something we'll do here in Chicago now that we know what we're doing.
We'd totally recommend this cruise to everyone. We went the end of May, so we didn't have the "Spring Break" crowd. There were all ages, and nationalities aboard. Good times for all. We decided to eat "anytime", mainly because we didn't want to have to be locked into a certain time to eat. Especially if we had plans on the islands we weren't rushed. Plus we still were able to eat at a table with other's, we didn't have to sit by ourselves unless we wanted to. Made friends and had lots of laughs!
We plan to do this cruise again.

Ship tip
We hit the Lido deck because they offered the best homemade omelets. Every morning we could be found there - Lunch was the same so many endless possibilities. Dinner time we ate in the Lincoln & Washington rooms. Great wait in all areas.
