Review summary

We had a balcony stateroom at the back of the ship. The location was great, the cabin was totally quiet and the balcony had three comfortable chairs, including one bigger lounge chair which was an extra compared to balcony staterooms at the side of the ship. The room cleanliness was superb and our stateroom attendant was very friendly and pleasant. There was plenty of closet space to our clothes etc and we were able to fit our empty huge suitcases under the bed. We absolutely loved the towel animals :o)! When we go cruising next time we definitely try to get similar stateroom location.

Book an excursion before going here! If you like snorkeling this is probably a great place for that! Our plan was to walk around the city, which quickly turned out to be a quite bad idea since there wasn't that much to see. So we returned to port and hired a guide from there. He drove us around the city and the outskirts. I would definitely book an excursion beforehand when going to this destination.

Cozumel, Mexico

We went to see Maya Ruins to mainland Mexico. The traveling part of the excursion was about / a bit over 4 hours and we had about three hours at the ruins. Our tour guide was a bit annoying (too much detailed and not very interesting / irrelevant information for example related to astrology). With a different tour guide the excursion would have most likely been much more interesting and also the traveling might have felt shorter than it did now.

We rented a car (only 37 USD per day) and drove around the western part of the island. It was a good way to experience Roatan and see local way of living.
