Carnival Triumph

5 Night Western Caribbean (New Orleans Roundtrip)

Sail date: August 28, 2010

Ship: Carnival Triumph

Cabin type: Inside

Traveled as: Singles/Friends

Review summary

Carnival cruise lines works hard to accommodate young children and the older crowd but those of us in our twenties or thirties aren't left with much to do during the day. The food was absolutely terrible. I've been on other cruiselines before that have less food available but the quality is through the roof compared to the junk they feed you on Carnival. I would not recommend sailing with Carnival and will not be going back.

Ports of call

Progreso (Merida), Mexico

There isn't much to do at Progresso. Either schedule an excursion, stay on the boat or prepared to be assaulted by the staff at a slew of very similar tourist shops.

Cozumel, Mexico

Don't Miss: Fat Tuesday

Pros: Excursions and entertainment on-board

Cons: The food was terrible: There is plenty of it but none of it is good quality. There wasn't much to do during the day for the young adult crowd.
