Embarkation was okay, but debarkation really sucked. Will not be returning to that port.

Extremely relaxing. Avoided the crowds. Food was some of the best ever in the MDR. Half moon cay, if done correctly, is hard to beat. Much less kids than I expected and unusually behaved. My 24th cruise across 6 different cruise lines and the whole cruise exceeded expectations.

Overall not a perfect cruise, but a nice 4 day getaway nonetheless. I most likely will not sail on Carnival Sunshine again do to the passenger to space ratio, since public spaces were reduced to add more cabins to the ship. I will most likely not sail during peak cruise summer months again either.

We had a great time! We went in with reserved expectations and we were pleasantly surprised. Very casual and fun which is what we wanted. The food far exceeded our expectations! Loved Bimini!

Fun cruise but water logged. On Half Moon Cay day, they had to make a towel barrier to prevent more water from going inside. Made my own fun anyway!

Being a solo cruiser for the first time was really different. Lots of different things to do.

This was a typical mid-range Carnival experience. It met my expectations but did not exceed my expectations or 'WOW' me. As usual, the main dining room has really gone downhill and it is a shame that specialty dining is required in the evenings for an excellent meal at dinner. Fortunately, breakfast/brunch and a few lunch offerings like Guys Burgers and the pizza place, are excellent in comparison to similar offerings on other cruise lines i've sailed. Entertainment was highly recycled from previous cruises I have been on since the restart (even other ships) and was OK but once again did not 'WOW' me. At least the comedians and general musicians were great and helped the entertainment quality. The friendly and creative bartenders are one of the best things about the entire cruise like many Carnival cruises ive experienced as well. Rooms do not have USB ports near the beds despite the updates and my ocean view cabin was spacious but a little lacking in terms of comfort, etc. The service was memorable as always though and is one of the things I love about Carnival. Embarkation and debarkation in Charleston was a nightmare compared to embarkation/debarkation at all of the ports I have been to before.

Was a very nice cruise. Carnival does a good job. This was cruise number 12 for us and I am posting this mainly for those looking for photos of this ada room.

This was a fun solo cruise with good food, good service, and no major issues. Embarkation and disembarkation were a little different at Charleston than other ports I've been to, but pretty quick. There was always plenty to do and see on the ship. Entertainment was great and I got exactly what I wanted at the two ports: plenty of sun (actually a bit too much...sunburn), a lot of time in the water, and quality time at the beach. There were some crowds at certain times and places, but wait times were not terrible.

We enjoyed everything about this cruise. We will definitely be booking another one on the sunshine very soon

Overall, we had a great experience. We can only compare our experience to other cruises and I’d say the food was probably a lesser quality and smaller selection that what we’ve experienced in the past on other cruise lines. The crew probably has to work extra hard to maintain an older ship. Since this is a post pandemic cruise and my first Carnival cruise, I don’t know if my experience is what you might consider the norm or if it is just a sign of the times. We’d definitely go again. Staff was great, I didn’t go hungry and I wasn’t at work! So, why not go again?!

This was our first cruise and first vacation in 2 1/2 years, so we were really looking forward to it. Unfortunately the poor quality and selection of food was a serious disappointment which tainted the whole experience. The reliance on a phone app for all the information from schedules to menus was a headache, especially when it really didn't work well. For instance, I never personally arranged for our table reservation yet my phone would loudly announce - with the sound of the blast of the ship's horn followed by a flourish of brass, that our table was ready - at 3 AM, at 6 AM, and even after we had disembarked officially from the ship. My sister was never able to access the menu on her phone.

Overall a very positive experience considering the "age" of the Sunshine and the infrastructure of the Charleston port. We were very pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed it. Yes, it was crowded (getting a drink at the bar was very trying at times, and service at the one specialty dining was extremely slow), but we had our patience packed and kind of knew what to expect when we saw how many people were boarding.

We did this cruise because we love Charleston SC. The ship overall was a major disappointment for us. Not well kept, and not well designed. We did have a nice cruise, and did enjoy a good portion of the experience, but there were just too many negative aspects to this ship and cruise line. The Havana bar for one, was never open with entertainment. It was dead. Other venues were also lacking. But it was the lack of cleanliness that really turned us off.
