Overall, we made the best of what we got. I would have liked to have had more time at the ports but I think everything was just being rushed from the delay. I think it’s terrible that they do not compensate you with anything at all to make up for your lost time and money. Even just a comp’d specialty dinner or a few drinks would have sufficed. Anything to show you that they were truly trying to make up for the delay and honestly cared about the people losing out on money they spent and not about their dime.
Embarkation
1 out of 5
Terrible, had a delay, lost 1/2 a day of vacation time with no compensation. I had to spend more money To feed and entertain my family of 5 while we waited to be able to board the ship. Our time to board was 12:30/1pm and we didn’t board until almost 10pm. Carnival did not offer any incentives for the delay- I would have even been happy with a couple upgraded drink tickets.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Food wasn’t terrible but I did expect it to be better. I did try out one of the specialty restaurants which I really did enjoy.
Onboard Activities

I enjoyed laying by the pool on the Serenity deck. Chairs were much more comfortable.
Entertainment

I enjoyed all the entertainment! From the comedy shows to the singing and dancing and Mikey entertaining the crowd!
Children's Programs

My kids thought they were just ok. They said they really didn’t do much and were bored in camp most of the time.
Service and Staff

Everyone was very friendly and exceeded my expectations.

Cabin / Stateroom

Apparently my cabin was large but I’ve never been on a ship before so to me I was cramped. There was a pair of underwear left in the drawers from the previous tenant so I’m not sure how well it’s really cleaned. I always bring my own cleaning wipes and spray, not expecting to use them on the ship but I’m glad I had them when I saw the underwear!
Quick and easy... but I traveled with seasoned cruisers and they said usually the disembarkation takes longer and they must of been rushing everyone off to get back on the time schedule.
Sunshine is a GREAT ship. Sad that you feel Carnival owes you for someone's medical emergency. I'm sure you would be thanking them for the delay if you were the one in need of medical attention. Have a heart.. show some compassion
This cruise was delayed because of a medical emergency at sea. Carnival does not owe anyone anything when something like this happens. No one should be complaining because the ship has to take actions to save a person's life.
