Review summary

Overall it was a good cruise. It was our first one. We got shorted a day due to a medical event on the previous cruise. The food wasn’t anything special. The bars were always slow even when they weren’t busy.

Our embarkation was delayed by about 8 hours due to a medical event on the prior cruise, however, once we started it went fairly smooth for us.

The main dining room food was...meh. The two dinners we ate there were less than satisfying. Our server Ferhat was amazing and made it an enjoyable time. The food however was lackluster. It was a small portion and rather bland.

Fahrenheit 555 Steakhouse

The food and service was top notch. The steak was melt in your mouth good. The wine pairing was great. The service was phenomenal. Well worth the extra money.

The burgers were served plain and you got your own topping which is fine except that’s not how it was advertised. It was free though when I believe it was supposed to be an extra charge. The burgers were good but nothing special.

I attempted to eat the buffet and nothing was really all that good other than on embarkation night and that’s likely because we were all starving.

All the staff we encountered were amazing. Our server Ferhat was awesome. Our steward Suyanto was outstanding.

Our cabin was good. The bed was rather stiff for my liking but if you like sleeping on concrete it will be perfect for you. It was always clean everyday.

Ship tip

Expect a wait at any of the bars.

Nassau, Bahamas

We did a cheap hop on hop off bus tour. Worth every cent. We went to 5 stops. Atlantis was a good time. We went to Greycliff next. We toured the cigar shop and winery. Had a great tasting and bought a bottle. The cigars were good. We had a few more stops ending at the fish fry. We ate at a great little local restaurant called the drifter I believe. The food was amazing. Probably some of the best the whole trip.

It was a great beach day. It does take some time to get there because they load as many people as they can into the tenders but it was a nice relaxing day.

At least you enjoyed the ports. I hope you go again. The Sunshine was great two years ago. Things tend to change, not always for the better.
