Had a drink package so I was ok there. The dinning rooms where great, food and service was excellent. But on my “Ship & Sail Card” it was always being changed things that I didn’t authorize. I was not told this my my booking agent or carnival cruise lines. Very disappointed in how they managed to charge my credit card without my authorization. I’m still going to have to fight with them when they open tomorrow.

Didn’t get to enjoy any on board activity. First too many kids that take over all the stuff. The weather was cold and the wind was very bad, so couldn’t do outside activities. The pool was a joke. Very small only enough room for kids. The hot tub was very small and always had so many people I could never get to use it. The shows where amazing

Advice to your guest before or while booking. The staff didn’t tell me to pack the 2 bottles of wine in my checked baggage and they took it and didn’t give back at the end. Staff should make things clearer to all guest before booking. Not good.
The captain canceled saying it was too windy. Very disappointing and carnival would not compromise. Not good customer service and we had booked excursion
Did you go to Serenity deck(adults only). I have been on 4 Carnival cruises and loved them all. I a older and has a blast just watching people. I fortunately I had to cancel my cruise on the Sunshine
Not mad just trying to make light of the situation. And yes some parents let their kids run wild. We are trying the Island Princess in March 2019 Panama Canal partial.
Texasmongoose I'm sorry you feel any resentment to the remark I made just stating an obvious observation from this photo some older folks find negatives in every little thing or forget to look at the fine print and blame the cruiseline. I'm not a young guy either in my 40s. I totally agree with most of what she has said kids in general can overrun this ship parents not parenting and the main pool is way to small kind of pathetic actually. The first thing they should have done when renovating The Destiny to become Sunshine bigger main pool. I apologize to everyone if the age thing bothered you also cruising isn't for everyone and thats a fact. Not sure if I go back to Carnival after going on my Allure of the Seas trip may be a convert to RCCL just looks incredible.
Hey, OwenArrrg, I kinda recent the age comment. lol I'm probably in your old definition, but I still like to have fun and kick up my heels have a good time. I can still party with the rest. We were on the same cruise: Didn't care for the ship, but we had an enjoyable time. 1st cruise ever w/ bad weather, we just ate and drank more than usual, lol. Hardly any children onboard. We don't use public pools. Research or a good TA would have explained how the sail & sign account works and what isn't included in the cruise price. Cruising isn't for everyone.
The reality is daily tip is charged this is normal, any dining that is not complimentary will have extra cost any purchases made onboard as soon as you made your credit card connected to your sail card you authorized charges good luck but expect nothing to be reversed.
Overall, it sounds like you had a fairly decent experience with the exception of weather which can make or break a vacation and others also enjoying the ship's amenities. I don't travel with kids so they can be a nuisance when parents cut the chord and make no effort to ensure they're being considerate of others. The unauthorized charges must have been the daily gratuities being added to the account. The consent to pay them is inherent in signing the cruise contract. Cruising isn't for everyone; I love it.
I think for someone around your age maybe going onboard a party cruise was not the best plan maybe if you try it again spend a bit more try RCCL bigger ship more amenities and better entertainment. I for one loved my Carnival cruise it was on Sunshine 1st cruise got bitten by the bug cannot think of a better vacation than cruise.
So sorry for your experience. We went for 13 nts right before you. With the exception of disappointing buffet food. Our cruise on the Sunshine was great.
He better do some research, and all the crew ships the pools a small. And less you pay extra and go on the Adults only section. Sorry you had a bad time.
