About what I expected.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
Specialty restaurants were great, however, the dinning room and buffet food was subpar - no flavor and poor choices

They did not want to leave. we had to make them leave.
Service and Staff
2 out of 5
The one time we ate lunch in the dinning room due to weather the wait staff were acceptable but not great. No children's menus. They did bring them the only thing they could - pasta.
guest relations needs some lessons on how to listen to their guest and not make them feel stupid. We had small children with us and needed to change the dinner time and they would not listen - therefore we did not get to eat in the dinning room, only the buffet.
The room steward was the only one on the ship who went out of their way to accommodate us.
Ship Quality

layout was ok but confusing in some aspects. We were unsure as to access to some areas.
Cabin / Stateroom

All-in-all the cabin was comfortable. The only thing I had an issue with was the rust on the window. It made me very nervous.
I was very disappointed in the cleanliness of the port - the main area where the tourist entered the city was very dirty. We took a taxi tour and the driver was excellent.
Well heck, my first cruise was on the carnival sunshine. Our balcony glass was coated in salt it was hard to see the view. I was bummed but forgot all about it. Then we had a day at sea and staff were cleaning the balcony’s. Ohhhh. What a surprise the balcony glass was much cleaner. Yes, there also was rust, but not much and then I realized every morning after it rained in the night everything was coated in salt. Hey, I’m on a ship in the middle of the ocean!
I
Weather was bad...sounds like you are blaming the cruise line. Changing dinner time would mean changing someone else's dinner time and did you expect someone elsewhere who was happy with their dinner time to change
Oh no! I'm booked on this rust bucket in August. Should I cancel my cruise?? Heck no I'll just get another Thirsty Frog Red 🐸🍻 and have another dance with my wife.
Was on the sunshine last year. Loved it so much we will be back on it spring break 2019 and possibly a summer cruise if we can fit it in. One of our favorite ships. My 6 yo never wanted to leave camp and had so much fun on waterworks and sports square.
Kritter42, don’t let this negativity Nellie ruin your cruise. I thoroughly enjoyed the Sunshine on our 8 day cruise. Wonderful staff... dining can NOT just change on a whim. If the cruise is booked solid, then so are the dinning times. If cruising with children, then anytime dining would probably have been their best choice...
The food was great, the entertainment wonderful, and the entire staff went out of their way to make it an enjoyable cruise. It’s what you make of it. cruising is at its height. Ships RARELY sail under capacity, so it’s understandable and should be expected to be crowded...
I’ve been on 9 different Carnival ships and have always had a wonderful, fun and relaxing experience... that keeps me booking more....
If your talking about Sunshine than you either are very picky or just negative in general had a great time it was my 1st cruise and has turned me on too cruising now only vacation I want is cruise. Its bound to have some rust here and there if you looked at some of the history it was The Destiny and went into drydock they spent like almost 200 million and refurbished her but many areas show age. I thought the food was very flavorful and rich. I'm also a trained chef so I know these things. I think poor weather was the culprit for not enjoying it and not the ship or food just observation you keep mentioning it. Remembering they had rather large kids menu travelled with picky 8yr old and two teens. Seem to always have tasty mac and cheese on standby. Stepping up too RCCL Allure of the Seas next month should be awesome.
Dont know what ship you are referring too, but why would a little rust on a window bother you? The ships are at sea all the time and there is bound to be rust seen at times. Nothing that would make the ship not sea worthy.
