Review summary

This was a wonderful cruise! It was short and fabulous--leaving me looking to book my next cruise vacation literally on the way home. The ship was great--plenty to do or not, everything was easy to access, and I cannot think of anything I found lacking. The crew was exceptional! Everyone worked hard to make sure we had the best time--nothing was too much to ask. I cannot believe how hard crew members work but they always have a smile for their passengers. We chose 2 excursions through Carnival and they were lots of fun and greatly added to our enjoyment of our trip. We took the catamaran/snorkeling trip in Nassau--it was a fun sailing trip. We also took a trip around Freeport to see a farm, the Owl Hole, and then to a gorgeous beach for lunch--again, completely recommend the chance to learn more about Bahamian culture. Every day the food was delicious--and seemed to never end--so abandon your diet! One last tip for any cruise: bring cash in small bills ($1s and $5s) for tips and to purchase things on shore. Bigger bills are useless as you will often be told the seller cannot make change or they'll want to make change in the local currency. I brought $200 and that's plenty for such a short cruise. I really cannot find enough to say about how great my trip was so I'll end with--take this cruise and enjoy yourself!!!

Always delicious--and you can have as much as you want. Order everything that appeals to you!

Onboard Activities

Entertainment

We really weren't able to see any of the shows--we chose the late dinner time and that makes seeing the shows a challenge. But, we didn't care--there was plenty to do without seeing the shows.

Service and Staff

WOW!!! The best there is!!! Patrick our steward, our dining room crew members: Mario and Asastas, and my favorite bartender, Jai!!! Nothing was too much and I looked forward to their big smiles every day. You're lucky is these wonderful gentlemen are assigned to you because they will make your trip even better!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Always clean, sparkling actually. And, the Sunshine is not so large that its hard to get around.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Perfect size for 2--another person would be a bit tight but you could do it. Loved being on Deck 1--you can see the water so close to you and it was a port-side cabin. That let's you see what's at the port to buy. Plus, we were mid-ship so there was virtually no sense of movement if you're concerned about that.

Ship tip

Eat breakfast at the Havana Bar--its quieter and the views are gorgeous! The Lido Marketplace is really crowded. This is a beautiful treat!

Ports of call

Charleston, South Carolina

Park at the port facility!

Nassau, Bahamas

Pretty capital city!

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

Make sure to take an excursion through Carnival--this is a poorer, industrial town so being on your own is not the best idea.
