July 2014 - Carnival Sunshine

Sail Date: July 12, 2014

Reviewed: 2 years ago

Traveled As: Family (older children)

Room Type: Oceanview

We had a great time on board the Sunshine.  The crew was wonderful and very helpful.  Our room steward was Awesome.  He left us some great little presents each night and was willing to get me a bucket of ice at least twice a day.  The food was good and the drinks were Awesome!

The only bad thing was the pools were so small and we were packed in them on the sea days.  You could get in and stand next to your new friends and that was about it.

One other suggestion:  Do not pay to go on the beach excursions.  Most of all the places that you get at, you can catch a taxi and get there a lot cheaper.  We traveled to St. Thomas, San Juan and Grand Turk.  The beach at Grand Turk is right next to the port.  If you want to do something really special then book an excursion.

Ship Quality
Food and Dining
I wish that they had the Blue Cantina open more than it was. It should bee open just as much as Guy's burger joint was. It was really good, but we only got to eat there once.
Service and Staff
Really enjoyed the Punchline!
Children's Programs
It is to easy for girls and boys to leave the Circle C.
Onboard Activities
Destinations and Excursions
Some were not worth the money. We also went on the Rain forest excursion in San Juan and it was nothing like we thought it would be. You see no animals except snails and lizards.
Cabin / Stateroom
The only complaint I had with our room was you could not get it very cold. I like to have cold rooms and ours never was cold.
Port Canaveral, Florida
Nassau, Bahamas
Been there 3 other times and really don't care to go back.
Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas
San Juan, Puerto Rico
Rain forest is a waste of money!
Grand Turk Island
Go to the pool!

Pizza was great!
