Review summary

The Sunshine was recently refitted so cabins are new and nice. The layout of the ship is a little confusing as cabins were added. The cruise director ( Chris Williams ) was fabulous. The food is not up to par as is the dining room service. Unfortunately we missed two ports due to weather so we spent a lot of extra time on the ship.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
The computer where we origianlly checked in to avoid long lines did not send to the main computer. Therefore, even though we had priority boarding, we still had to wait on a ling line to check in.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Food was not as good as on past Carnival cruises. The selections in the restaurants and the buffet were limited. Service was weak.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We spent a lot of extra time on board and the fun ship staff kept us active and involved.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Cruise director's show was excellent and the bands , DJs and piano bar singer....great. Stage show were weak.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Room steward took good care of us. Dining room waiter tried but often made errors or brought us very cold food. Service desk was responsive for the most part.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Poor layout after refit.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The cabin was great....everything was new and clean. However, there was a gurgling sound all night coming from the bathroom and it ould not be repaired.

Ship tip

Look for Chris the cruise director's nightly bar show. Tell your waiter to make sure the food is brough up warm.

Were were here an extra day. We did an excursion to the reversing rapids and the beach caves. It was excellent. On the second , and unplanned , day we walked the town and visited the Jewish Museum. Quaint town. Eat losbters at Steamers.
