Review summary

The cruise was disappointing. Carnival changed for port from New York to Brooklyn. That cost us additional money to travel from our hotel to Brooklyn. Carnival changed the order of the itinerary, which meant I would no longer get a chance to see my niece in Boston. Then, due to weather, we missed Portland and Boston altogether. However, if the order of our cruise hadn’t been changed, this would not have happened. Also, the saunas didn’t work in the morning. We were told we had to wait until the afternoon and evening. We like enjoying the spa after a workout. When I said something to the staff and manager it fell on deaf ears. We cruised Carnival several times and have had experiences far more enjoyable than this one.

The spa balcony was disappointing and not worth the extra money. The spa wasn’t hot in the morning. We have booked and enjoyed several spa balconies and this was the worse! We did not receive Elemis products, access to classes or anything spa related. If you were to enter the room for the first time, you’d have know idea it was a spa balcony.

Carnival sent out port changes months ago. This was no last minute change.

The itineraries can and do change for a variety of reasons - weather, medical emergency, mechanical issue, political reasons, etc. No port or itinerary is guaranteed. If a specific port is of importance, always get a good travel insurance policy that will compensate you for any changes.

All that is the fault of the weather. Can’t blame the cruiseline for keeping you safe.
