Review summary

The amounts charged to my Visa card do not match my final billing statement. My account is now showing a negative balance even though there was enough available to cover the final balance due when departing.

Embarkation

3 out of 5
The airline delayed my flight which caused me to lose my prepaid transportation and find last minute alternative transportation to the port (very stressful).

There was nothing to do or anywhere to go without an expensive excursion. Fellow passengers who paid for the excursions at this port had a lot of complaints.

Although there was nothing immediately near the port to explore, the Hoppa On Hoppa Off bus excursion for $20 was money well spent.

Just contact Carnival and they will square it for you, to include any over draft fees. This happened to me on the Magic and I had no problems getting it resolved.

That's why you need trip protection to cover loss of prepaid expenses, missed connections and other stressful situations if the airline doesn't reimburse. We were in a similar situation. Sorry it happened to you.

Banaford is right, the hold takes awhile to come through. $100 for 5 days or less then $200 for 6 or more days. If it’s more than those amounts, I would dispute it.

I am not sure when you came back, but make sure it is not just a hold, that will drop usually within 10 days. It does state in the cruise contract that holds can happen. And that you need to contact your bank if they do not credit back.

Dispute the difference with your Visa card.
