I believe this will be our last Carnival cruise. The ports of call that were replacements for hurricane hit areas were not even close to the ones we were scheduled to go to. I believe we should have been refunded money or credited some for disappointing places.
Embarkation
1 out of 5
We cruised before and embarkation was easy. This time we waited for over an hour in an extremely long line outside in the heat. The security agents were not helpful. We thought, since we chose a time, that the process would have been better.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
The dining room was wonderful and our waiters were great.
The buffet was very repetitive and the meat was dry, as were the desserts.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
The kids were extremely disappointed that the basketball courts closed early. Our last cruise had volleyball, which this one did not. The pools were small and teenage kids really didn't have anywhere to go to swim.
Entertainment

Children's Programs
2 out of 5
O2 room was okay for the oldest but my 13 year olds didn't really fit in the room. Every time they went in, there were just boys playing video games.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Our steward, Nerdie (sp) was wonderful. Our waiters, Bernie and Oka were great as well.
Ship Quality
3 out of 5
Ship was clean but I was not impressed with the design. My first cruise was on a much better ship.
We forgot three pairs of shoes in our room and didn't discover it until after disembarking. We waited around over and hour to try to get someone to go to the room to get them, as we knew exactly where they were. After asking 10 plus people to help, and getting no help, we called carnival number only to discover they were closed on Sunday. I can't imagine we are the only people that have left important items behind. There needs to be someone from Carnival there to help with this.
I'm going to cruise to whatever port they opt for if the ports change but, I'm not very understanding of the compensation.
I insure each cruise with no fault, cost more but I can cancel for any reason.
Next time spend the extra money and cruise during the months of November thru April. Otherwise you’ll deal with hurricane season. I’ve been a cruiser on Carnival for over 20 years and never had an issue with weather. Never had an issue with storm damage either. Hope this helps.
