Review summary

Overall we had a great experience on the Splendor. I'll start with food review. The Splendor offers several different choices for lunch and I tried them all except for Tandor. The Deli never disappoints, the burrito bar was yummy and they have tortilla chips, the hamburgers were good, Pizza Pirate is always a good choice, the BBQ was a favorite for my DH,  and the buffet was the typical cruise lunch buffet. Breakfast on Lido was the usual as well. Personally I prefer the Sea Day brunch. We enjoyed the Dr. Seuss breakfast too. The dinning room food was good overall. Service was slow, but I believe it was do to the lack of waitstaff. Our server was friendly and did a great job, but I felt like he needed more help. We enjoyed stopping by the Taste bar the evenings that it was available. The coffee shop still has delicious milkshakes and carrot cake. Overall our food experience on the ship was as expected and good. The amenities available were nice. We never visited the Spa deck though, but someone we met told us they enjoyed their messages. We enjoyed the pool, the splash pad, and the water slide. There were several things available to do each evening. We really enjoyed the piano bar and the casino bar. We weren't big on the live music played at the casino bar though. I'm not going to comment on the The 80's Keynote production. I'll just say some may have enjoyed it, but it was pretty bad in my opinion. We participated and watched some of the other shows and enjoyed them. We had a great room steward, but I did feel bad for them as he had a ton of rooms to clean. This is another area I feel that Carnival needs to hire some more employees. My kids 10, 3, and 2 loved Camp Carnival. My 3 and 2 year old never wanted to leave. We enjoyed all of our time at our 4 ports. Overall it was a great cruise!

Cabin / Stateroom

If you are traveling with a family of 5 I recommend going with a larger cabin. The cabin itself is fine, but I am meant to live in a larger area. 🤣

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

Philipsburg, St. Maarten

You must try a pastry on the French side of St. Maarten. We used Bernard's Tours for a personal tour for our group and we really enjoyed it. They took us all over the island and to a couple of beaches.

Basseterre, St. Kitts Did not visit port

We really enjoyed our private tour and the beach in St. Kitts, but I can't remember the name of the company we used. 🙁

San Juan, Puerto Rico

We walked around Old San Juan. This wasn't our first time visiting here. If you haven't ever been you need to go to the Fort and see all the historical sites the free trolley offers.

Grand Turk Island

Grand Turk is always a favorite. We like to hang out down at Jacks Shack. We rented a golf cart this time and took a tour of the island. I recommend doing this only if you want to say you have seen the whole island otherwise I highly recommend staying at the cruise area or Jacks Shack. There isn't really much to see on the island. If you decide to rent a cart I highly recommend Max Karts.
