Review summary

This ship broke down and had to turn back halfway thru. Read the history of their Splendor ship before you book - sure wish I had! That being said, we missed half our destinations and the only concession offered was $100 onboard credit and 25% off a future cruise. They email me better offers than that. INSULTING. They only offered 50% off the current and a future cruise after the ship started smelling like sewage for a couple of days and people complained non-stop. Laundry on every floor was broken, our tv and phone didn't work, and elevators were out of order like crazy!! Not sure what we even paid for - what a complete waste of time and money. They could've turned it around with better communication and worrying about anything other than their deep pockets!! Good bye and I will tell everyone I know to stay away from carnival!!!

Cabin was clean and had plenty of room. Thankfully since that's where we spent most of this trip. Tv and phone were broken. Phone never got fixed.

Ship tip

Don't do it!!! If you must cruise Carnival I would recommend you think twice about getting on Splendor.

We just cancelled for march 12th because of the uncertainty about the ports - carnival was very reasonable - offered full refund including air fare - this was a fluke event - we have cruised multiple ties with carnival before and never had issues - all the best in your cruise travels :)

We were on the Splendor when it lost the engine. Still had a wonderful time. Had no issue with tv, phone or elevator or smelling sewage. We feel Carnival is being more than fair in compensation and we will definitely go on Carnival again next year.

This is what I can't stand about this site. People come on here with no cruising history on their profile and post a review about their "cruise" experiencing so much negative stuff that no one else has mentioned. I call it BS.

Been on 6 Carnival cruises. Enjoyed everyone of them. The only small issue we had was being on the Ebola cruise. We missed a port and got 50% off our next cruise plus port fees and 200 extra dollars per person. I was very happy and thankful we got that. We still had a wonderful time. Still love Carnival!

Never had a problem across 7 Carnival cruises, and very much enjoyed the Splendor last year. A cruise ship is, essentially,a machine. Things can and do happen. That's the risk you take, just like your car or an airplane you board can have problems. The question is, are you willing to take that risk? If no, you should probably stick to land based vacations.

I have been on 21 carnival cruises and have never had a problem thank goodness. I have 3 more planned for this year. And the splendor was included a few times. I loved it.

ive been on Splendor 3 times with no issues. in fact the only cruise we could do in August of this year because of my son's work schedule. it Erik new or 4th time on the Splendor. My only complaint last time was it didn't seem as smooth as other ships.
