Review summary
I went on this cruise on the Splendor two years in a row, having taken 5 Carnival Cruises before. The food quality in Carnival was noticeably declining. I notice the small things, like going from butter at the tables to butter spread, using imitation sour cream and cheeses, and so forth. Too many "imitation" ingredients and condiments. The main dining room food was great. The buffets have become absolute garbage. I mean garbage. The food quality and taste is so bad it's hard to believe they get away with it. Hot dogs you want to spit out after one bite, deserts that look good but have NO taste, meat entree's drowned in sauces of "imiation" ingredients, and pizza with imitation cheese is the worst. Being hungry and having horrible tasting meal after horrible tasting meal, then suffering upset stomach ruined the entire cruise. Will never go with Carnival again. The other cruise lines get it right with the food, and I've tried them all. Other than that, good ship with good activities and service.
