Review summary

The ship looks tired, not well maintained, but comfortable, The biggest problem that I had was that the rules for being back on board at the correct time were not enforced. There was not one time when we were not waiting for tardy passengers who didn't care that they were late. In yesteryear they would have been left behind and had to catch a plane to the next destination. Surely if one is allowed to break one rule how is it possible to enforce others?

The food in the Pinnacle Dining Room was exquisite, however the standard of the food in the Lido dining area was substandard at best. The service in the Black Pearl was dreadful.

However, overall it was a lovely time and the stateroom was clean, homely and relaxing.

Very clean and well kept. The steward was attentive and pleasant.

Don't expect too much in the quality of the food at the buffet.

I've been on 11 different ships from 4 cruise lines and have seen ships leave without all passengers on board only to see the culprits on the dock running as we sailed out of the harbour. Sometimes it was the person who went off on their own. That's a risk you take when you get off the ship. Of course, stay with The cruise line sponsored excursions and you will have no worries. Happy sailing!

Splendor was just dry docked in March. So she is fairly clean and upgraded. Who cares if someone is late. Probably a carnival excursion anyway. Rate the ship and excursions that's information we need,not hoping someone gets left behind

We sailed in the Splendor a few years ago and I thought it was just fine. It beats being at work any day! People being late to board also doesn't bother me since it's not like we have any place to be... Except relaxing and having fun 😉

I recently cruised on the Splendor and there was nothing wrong with it in my view! Also, If the people you were waiting for were on a carnival excursion then carnival must wait! If not then carnival will leave, so obviously they were on a carnival excursion and there is nothing that can be done about that! Sorry...

Maybe the late comers were coming back from a carnival excursion. Carnival can't leave without them getting back on the ship.
