Review summary

My husband and I took our honeymoon on the Carnival Splendor. We were very disappointed in the customer service. We had mentioned to several people it was our honeymoon and no one acknowledge it. We also thought the food was just fair. There was the same thing pretty much everyday, and the shrimp cocktail at dinner was four little shrimp. It seem everything was an up charge. We bought the drink package which was not really worth it as I am not a big drinker. Since we were both over 21 in the same room we both had to purchase it. The ports of call were awesome except it was Thanksgiving in San Juan so everything was closed. I would not take another Carnival Cruise, but would be willing to try another cruise line.

Did Carnival force you two to buy the Cheers program?

Husband and I cruised Splendor 11/15/15! We loved it! The staff in the dining room was fantastic! Thanks to Tomas, Genena, Artenson!! They took very good care of us! Food in the dining room was great! We ate in the dining room 6 of the 7 nights. We cruise because we want to relax! We don't need to be entertained! It is what you make it! Word of advise: If you don't like what you ordered, they will get you something else! And if one appetizer or entre is not enough, order as many as you are going to eat!

We would never cruise those times either. We usually cruise September-November.

They do cuz when we booked our magic cruise we told them we were celebrating 2 anniversaries. They had a cake and some champagne in both of the rooms when we got on the ship.

Some folks like to cruise during major school holidays, but I don't.Too many kids, & they probably drive the staff crazy with the noise, extra mess, and running around wild. Not all parents let their kids run around unsupervised, but a surprising number do. Caseywallace, did you let Carnival know beforehand that you were honeymooning? When you book, they ask if you're celebrating anything.

You can order as much shrimp or whatever you want as many times as you want. Our son, 3 years old, had to helpings of shrimp cocktail every night on our Magic cruise. Congratulations on your marriage

My husband and I got married on the splendor. Our marriage was acknowledged only for a couple of days due to the crew giving us our wedding cake as desert till it was finished. I didn't expect congratulations anytime we mentioned it was our honeymoon. Your marriage is a special thing between you and your husband, that shouldn't need a congratulatory reminder by a stranger.

I was on the Splendor out of NY on a New England and Canada cruise this past Sept. and everything was outstanding. The worst cruise I had on Carnival was last Thanksgiving week (Nov/2015) and only because of the many children aboard.

you could have had as many shrimp that you could eat just ask for more. There are a lot of people celebrating a lot of different things on cruise. Good luck in your marriage there will be a lot of ups and downs. If this is the worst thing that happens you will be OK. Congregation

I'm sorry about your experience..and I have read so many times in here that the customer service was not good on this ship. I have gone on 3 cruises prior and 2 were Carnival it was great. this is my husbands first cruise in 40 days or so and now after reading this snot customer service over and over again I hope he gets the cruise experience. Congratulations on your marriage..thank God we don't let a honeymoon define our marriage..definitely another cruise line may be in order for your first anniversary..
