Review summary

We had fantastic time on our cruise! Nothing to compare with!

The quality of room was excellent. Always clean, tidy. The room was smaller than the hotel rooms, but the space was sufficient to move around, put our luggage. The closets were spacious. The room has a queen bed, a sofa, TV, and everying else that you'd need for 7 night stay. The room door was narrow, so we had to fold the stroller to enter.

The food was outstanding. All delicacies. Lobster, snails, frog legs, and etc. Everyday something new and yummy! The waiters go above and beyond to make your dinners enjoyable. Our waiter was Arnold and he was outstanding. No food restrictions - eat as much as you can.

Very friendly personnel in general except for a hostess from Belarus. I think her name was Yulia. She was rude and not willing to accommodate our request to sit near the window during breakfasts. On one of the mornings she said she is going to re-seat us because we're sitting in inappropriate place. She went and never came back again. We waited for her 15 minutes with a child on hand, and then asked a different hostess to re-seat us. The hostess from Bulgaria though was very friendly and accommodating. Can't remember her name, but she is a fabulous person. She made our mornings!

The other issue we encountered was at the "kindergarten". We left our 1.5 year old boy for couple hours with the nannies at 10pm. The minute he started to cry they would call us immediately to get him. They never tried to calm him down or play with him. One of the nannies was from Peru, and the other from Serbia.

The ship was gorgeous! Beautiful and colorful. The days were full of activities and the nights full of entertainment. We enjoyed every moment we spent on and off the ship. The Carnival Splendor provided amazing cruise to different Islands. My wife and I are full of sweet memories and unforgettable moments from this cruise. It was our first cruise experience and we're already planning for the next cruise in September this year.

Our main concern was that there were very limited programs and access to the playground for the children below 2 yrs..

Our waiter Arnold Lesigues was outstanding! He made every effort to made us feel comfortable and enjoy the dinner. He was very nice, tactful, and friendly. The hostess from Bulgaria was also very nice and accommodating our request to be seated near the window during the breakfast. The hostess from Belarus (her name was Yulia I guess) was rude and extremely unfriendly. We had to ask to change our hostess to a Bulgarian girl who was always friendly and smiling. Our room steward was Adi. He kept our room clean and tidy. Made beautiful animals form towels.

Ship tip

The coffee/tea and ice cream machines are handy. The grill bar is open for the most of the day. Smoking is allowed in various places (Casino Bar, 10th Deck, Cigar Bar). Fantastic cruise, fantastic destinations, and unforgettable vacation for couples and families! Highly recommended!
