Review summary

This was the first time my family was away for Christmas Day.  Carnival decorated the ship in a very festive way with Christmas trees and garland and lights.  They had numerous Christmas type activities and a nice Christmas show.  We were pleasantly surprised at how many ways they celebrated the holiday.  The food in the dining room was wonderful - no complaints there!  The only thing lacking was the quality and selection of food on the buffet.  Compared to other cruise lines, this buffet experience was very disappointing. Very few selections and what was there was not very good.

Also, they have an alcoholic beverage package called "Cheers Program."  It's a great idea but at $50 per person per day, you really feel as if you need to drink at least 7 or so drinks per day (real drinks, not just beer) in order to get your money's worth.  I purchased the package and found myself drinking more than I usually would  just to make it worth it.  I think they would have less intoxicated people if they allowed a couple to share the drink package.  Since they limit you to 15 drinks in a 24 hour period, they would still serve you no more than 15 drinks, but since those drinks would be shared by two people, neither would be intoxicated.

Bathrobes and mini fridge.

Ship tip

If you have any plans on sleeping before1130 pm, don't get a cabin above the theater! You can hear EVERYTHING. Try to get a cabin midship-saves you from having to walk the length of the ship to/from the dining room.

Kinda sketchy with people coming at you to sell you taxi service, hair braiding, etc. Stay with your group!

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

Not much there. Stay onboard and enjoy the quiet poolside.
