Review summary
We set sail for the Bahamas cruise from New York to The Bahamas on Dec 19th. We had done our homework on the boat and new it would be hard to be entertained for 4 days of sea time, but thought there would be plenty of entertainment to keep us busy. Although the crew did do a great job for all the "partiers" on the boat, there was not really much to do for the "non drinkers, non gamblers" or the teenagers. We've been on boats previously that had plenty for the kids to do, but not so much for this one. It seemed like all the teenagers on this boat had the same problem because they hung out the dinnning places a lot. We were disappointed in the shopping too. Highly disapointed in the food. It seemed like it was the same stuff day in and day out unless you went to the fine dinning everynight. We did just that so that we could have a decent meal. The buffet times were terrible and when you went to the pizza place, which was the only thing open 24 hours, it was bad service and you couldn't order what you wanted. You got what they gave you, or you didn't get any. The last night was ridiculous with food. Everything closed up early and the pizza place had one cook and you couldn't get anything because they were so slow. It was like they did it on purpose.
Our cabin steward and find dinning waiters were aweseome. They did everything they could to make us happy. We enjoyed them all. The shows in the evening were all wonderful!
The port times were awful! Carnival should really look into being able to make them longer and more apporpriate times. We were only at Freeport until 3! That's terrible! Thankfully it started raining anyway, so we wanted to go in, but we had hardly no time for shopping and beach. Why else do you go to Freeport other than the shopping and the beach. More time critical!!!
I rated it as a 3 star only because of the entertainment and our immediate assistance (cabin and fine dinning), other than that, I don't think Carnival has it quite going on yet. I would probably pick another cruise line to go with next time.

Ship tip
Ship does not have a lot of kids to do. We traveled with a 12 yr old and a 17 yr old. They both felt uncomfortable with the other kids there so they didnt get involved with the activities the ship provided. It seemed like the pools and hot tubs were always closed with a few exceptions.
