Sail Date: October 10, 2010
Ship: Carnival Splendor
Cabin Type: Inside
Traveled As: Family (young children)

the ship was beautiful, the staff kept everyone happy and treated everyone like royalty, and the activities are geared towards every age group - you really know how to make sure EVERYONE has a good time!

Food and Dining

Only thing I didn't like is, we took one evening to eat without our kids to have a quiet, romantic dinner, and you sandwiched us inbetween two couples - not quiet, and not romantic at all. This should be an option!

Two issues you may want to consider, nothing starts before 10am - my kids are up at 6am :) And, be flexible on age guidelines. My son turned 6 three days before the cruise and is already "young" for his age, so he never won anything, never got picked for anything, was always last in line, and was just younger than the rest. He had a good time but hanging around 8 year olds when he is in Kindergarten is a bit much - especially since all the activities are "competetive" and kindergarteners are generally not ready for that yet.

Service and Staff

everyone was awesome but the top notch guy was Abe, our room caretaker - he was THE best!

Stone Island excursion - did tour of Mazatlan via boat, had authentic lunch on the beach, and got to choose two activities (horseback riding, banana boats, boogie boards etc)
Don't Miss: Stone island excursion

Los Veranos ziplines - awesome for all ages, would like to see a combination excursion to release sea turtles
Don't Miss: Los Veranos Ziplines

Land's end and lovers beach amazing - would recommend going first thing in the morning
Don't Miss: Lovers Beach/Land's End

Pros: You cater to every age group

Cons: Not much gets started before 10am
