The Spirit is an older Spirit Class vessel. Came out in 2001. It is very beautiful as far as decor and classy feel like an older ship. Our trip was hit with many obstacles: High winds every day, always rocking with some severe (no one's fault) just average food for dinner, and a very cold cabin for the entire trip that we were told our ship had no heat unit for the cabins. REALLY!!!!

Ship experiences
Food and Dining

Buffets were really good, the morning sit down breakfast and seaday brunch in the main dining room were very good. Dinner in the main dining room left much to be desired. This dining was very bland and missing a lot!
Onboard Activities

Pools and jacuzzi were great if you could go there as we fought very high winds for the whole trip
Entertainment

We saw two stage shows that were very good, and most of the area musicians were very good
Service and Staff

Our dining room wait staff was very good (Diana, Alberto, Michael) Our room steward (Linda) went out of her way for anything we needed

All areas were clean, and the design was the older little more classy elegance.
Cabin / Stateroom

Our cabin was always clean and neat. The size was normal for an inside cabin and we even had a couch and table. We did not have any comfort in our cabin because we had no heat for the entire cruise. We were told our ship had not heating unit for the cabins. It may have been kind of ok if it had been warm outside. But this particular week we had nothing but high winds, sometimes as high as 65mph. Our cabin stayed about 66 degrees. We had individual small lap blankets we brought plus out cabin steward brought us king size blankets we folded in half and also covered with.
Ship tip
Make sure you have heat! Also, please don't expect the normal Carnival good food in the dining room, as a lot has been cut back or skimped on . It is still good, but not what I am use to on a Carnival ship.
We are both fans of Cozumel and have cruised here about 8 times. We do mostly walking around downtown and shopping. Don,t just do the Duty Free area and docking area
Thanks for the review. It’s an older ship but great layout. Carnival’s menus were recently changed but I think they are as good as they’ve always been. Maybe this ship just isn’t preparing meals well.
