Carnival Spirit is a fun ship and the crew are professional. There was a lot of entertainment and activities to do on the ship daily. The Burger, Pizza and Sandwich bar options were a nice change of pace to the single buffet onboard which routinely had the same food options as the main dining hall, Empire Lounge. It wasn't advertised, but there was midnight snacks in the buffet after midnight which we learned about on night 3...glad we found that out. If you are on the Spirit you should check out the shows in the Pharaohs Theater and don't miss one single night of Curtis Labelle in the Shanghai Piano Lounge...it was the highlight of all the ships entertainment and the most fun we've ever had on a cruise ship.

Food and Dining
3 out of 5
The dinner options in the Empire dining room were normally the same as that offered on the buffet albeit fancier and usually a better quality. It would have been nice to have a little more variety. The Christmas dinner buffet was really well done and nicely presented. Our Empire dining room staff was awesome...especially Cesar; our bar staffs were awesome...especially Ruth in the Shanghai Piano Bar lounge.

Curtis Labelle is the most kind and friendly entertainer. His nightly performances were truly fun and crowd involved...he was the difference in how much fun we had overall on our cruise.
Service and Staff

Our Empire Dining Room staff with Cesar was fabulous. Ruth in the Shanghai Piano Bar and elsewhere around the ship was an awesome bartender and server.

Our cabin staffer, Mark, was very kind and very professional in all that he did to make our stay enjoyable...kudos to him.
Ship tip
You can take your own water and soda on the ship. When I researched this option and saw it was unavailable or I was not permitted to do so and chose to purchase drink packages, I was truly unhappy when boarding and going through security to only see people checking water and carrying boxes of soda onboard. Recommend if you desire to take your own beverages (water/soda) you inquire further as to not wind up like me who didn't take any and wish I had.
We didn't do an excursion this visit, but enjoyed walking around town and seeing the sites...took in the Straw Market and had lunch and beers at a bar. Walked to the pirate museum and distillery but both were closed due to a British Holiday (Boxing Day)...that was kind of a let down.
You have to pay and get a golf cart if you want to get to end of island to see the best private beach and swim. Don't pay too much, but haggle for the prices...most people paid upwards to $200 for a cart, average was $140 but we got one for $60 and ours didn't run out of gas or have flat tires on way back...even though others did.
We did an excursion kayaking the mangroves with a company, not an excursion with the ship. Was a private tour it worked out and we had a wonderful day. If you don't do an excursion there are no options off the ship given distance from city except a few shopping and eating options at the port. Recommend you take an excusion here or simply stay onboard.
Glad to hear that the Spirit is doing good. Will be on her February 3, 2024. Have been on miracle 3x and legend 1. Spirit is our favorite class of ships. Remember if your not cruising your losing.
Glad you enjoyed the Spirit, thanks for letting us know. Keep in mind that all water and soda brought onboard has to be in cans, not plastic bottles. She is a great ship, isn't she? Cheers!
