Ports of call

Zihuatanejo/Ixtapa, Mexico

5 out of 5
Fun and interesting on a small scale. Nice people. Great winter weather. Could do without tendering, but handled well by Carnival.
Don't Miss: Las Gatas.

Manzanillo, Mexico

3 out of 5
Very industrial city. Ship dock is very inconvenient. Real nice people. Everyone employed. Good shopping at malls and elsewhere.
Don't Miss: Miramar Beach looks like southern California.

Big, rough, and poluted, but with great winter weather.

Pros: Service, food, entertainment, sauna/steam rooms, water slide, and crew constantly cleaning. Great art deco motif of the ship.

Cons: No dining room lunch service on in-port days. Many folks allowed to dress way too casual at main room dinner.

Recommends Carnival Spirit? Yes!
