Review summary

The cruise was restful and enjoyable with more time spent cruising than I am normally used to. The port stops were lovely, but short. And the food was sufficient but nothing special other than Guy Fiero burgers and the pizza shop which seemed to be the variation needed from standard fare.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation is always a challenge, from waiting lines in the parking, lines to drop off luggage, and lines to clear security. I mush say our wait times were greater outside (to drop luggage and pay for parking) than it was to clear security, but it took almost 2 hours.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The quality of the food served in the dining room was less impressive than past cruises and seemed pretty "regular" rather than the higher quality options of past years. although prepared and presented well, the options often left me wishing I had just gone to the buffet. On several evenings the "salad" was the best dinner option and this should not be so on a cruise ship.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Participated in on deck activities like groove for St Jude, 80's music, Art Auction (where we were promised but did not recieve bubbly anything) etc.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The entertainment staff was amazing, from "guest" performers to the mainstage singers/dancers. Scott Orchard in the piano bar, Jason Love, comedian were exceptionally good. Dustin as host of Deal no Deal, Love and Marriage, and Family Feud should get an Oscar.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Staff are always top notch. Professional, hard working, friendly, and very accommodating.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
I saw signs of upgrades from earlier cruises on that ship. Although a little older, everything you need is there and they do a good job keeping areas clean and well maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5

Ship tip

Check out the Sunset Garden, a hidden quiet gem for just relaxing and watching the water or having a conversation away from the crowds.

Ports of call

Grand Turk Island

5 out of 5
Found the whale most other people missed.

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

5 out of 5
Loved the Pirate Ship and paved walkways.

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
After a long wait to be called with "checked luggage" it was a smooth organized effort.
