Review summary

It was a nice cruise. There was nothing outstanding, but also nothing to cause consternation.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We left the hotel at 10:00 AM and we're eating a Guy's Burger by 11:00 AM.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
All the food was fine. Nothing outstanding, nothing terrible.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
The Spirit Class ships have very nice Serenity Decks. It is tough to watch movies on the deck with the very small outside screen.

Entertainment

2 out of 5
The stage shows were not as well performed as they have been on other Carnival cruises over the past few years. The comics did not seem to want to do the family friendly shows.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our room steward and dining room team were great. Dinner was very slow, perhaps due to staffing shortages. There was constant cleaning throughout the ship.

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Best inside cabin we have had in our 12 Carnival cruises. Lots of counter space with nine drawers. Nengah kept the room clean even as the ship is starting to show it's age.

Ship tip

Get to the comedy club at least 30 minutes early if you hope to see the show. This is an older ship without a lot of bells and whistles, but you can still have a great time.

Ports of call

George Town, Grand Cayman

4 out of 5
Beautiful island. Lots to do. We enjoyed the Turtle sanctuary.

Tampa, Florida

5 out of 5
Easiest and friendliest embarkation and debarkation of any port from which we have sailed.

Panama Canal (Cruise Into Canal)

4 out of 5
It was great to finally see the world-changing technology about which I used to teach.

Puerto Limon, Costa Rica

3 out of 5
Not a lot to do in Limon. We enjoyed our visit to the sloth sanctuary.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Very quick. Well communicated. Easy return trip to TPA for $10.00 per person on a local shuttle waiting outside the terminal. No reservation needed.
