This cruise was very much needed and appreciated. Our last cruise was an 11 - days Journey's cruise in November, 2016 on the Carnival Vista out of NYC.

Review summary

All in all it was great to be back on a cruise ship. We enjoyed our cruisecation very much. We always recommend a Carnival cruise as a way of travel to see the world and relax to all our families and friends. We enjoy being pampered very much!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Smooth. The only paperwork we brought with us was our CCL boarding pass. We simply used the eMed Navica app (48-hour negative Covid test results) and our NYS Excelsior app (COVID-19 vaccine records). And our passports for ID.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Our dining experience was made very special each evening by Ken, the Maitre'D, Mary Grace, the hostess, and our waiters, Francis, Ted and Marvin.

Lido Marketplace

4 out of 5

The food on the lido buffet is equal in quality to the food in the MDR.

Alchemy Bar

5 out of 5

The entire Alchemy Bar staff was extra helpful and kind. Our drinks were perfect!

Pizza Pirate

5 out of 5

Carnival's pizza has greatly improved... very close to NYC crispy thin crust!

Bonsai Sushi

5 out of 5

Modesto and the Bonsai Sushi crew were great... food and service!

Normandie Restaurant

4 out of 5

The quality, the taste of the food could be hit or miss.

Renaissance Atrium and Bar

5 out of 5

Donald was always super kind and helpful!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Harvey, from The Fun Squad made trivia time extra fun! We didn't win a ship on a stick, but we tried. Saxy DJ was amazingly fun at embarkation and the Silent Disco.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Frankie and his Fun Squad were ALL entertainingly great!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The service was always professional, kind and personalized to our needs. Everyone seemed to be happy to have us as their guests on the ship. Jaya, our room steward was attentive and helpful. Francis, Ted and Marvin our MDR waiters were so friendly and attentive. They were genuinely kind and appreciative. Ken, our Maitre'D was very friendly and has such a beautiful voice. Mary Grace, our hostess has such a beautiful spirit.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Always clean or was being cleaned, painted or repaired. The hull out the Pride was being painted in Baltimore as we were disembarking the ship. There was a 30 - minute or so power outage on the entire ship shortly after leaving the port of Bimini on Thursday, October 21. We were never told what caused the power outage and no delays were caused.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our balcony cabin was clean, spacious and relaxing! We slept with the curtain open every night. We enjoyed the the views of the ocean, the moon, the stars, the passing ships, the lighting storms in the distant, the sun rising, the port arrivals and the port departures.

Ship tip

Your cruise is what you make of it. So enjoy yourself, you are on a CRUISE!

Ports of call

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

5 out of 5
This is now my most favorite place to visit, so far. We rented a cabana for the day ...it was amazing! I was skeptical at first, a little pricey. But we will do it each time we are given a chance to rent in the future.

Bimini, Bahamas

5 out of 5
We purchased an excrusion through Carnival that included lunch, beach and resort property and pools usage. We are so glad we did as it was cheaper than the a la cart menu and the Mahi Mahi was so fresh and delicious!

Baltimore, Maryland

5 out of 5
We actually arrived in Baltimore a couple of days early, so we spent a day exploring around the harbor area.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
We returned back to Baltimore a little early on Sunday morning and we were off the ship very smoothly and quickly.

Good words of advise. Cruising, like life, is what you make of it.

Thanks for your review. We plan to be on her in April out of FL. Never have been on the Pride, so it is nice to see reviews.
