Overall, I was disappointed with this cruise. I will not be traveling with Carnival any more, left a bad/no taste in my mouth. I paid to much money to have food I cannot eat, activities where I felt left out, due to lack of cultural sensitivity, and no kind of compromise to compensate for any of the issues I noted.
Embarkation
3 out of 5
It was "OK"; I thought we disembarked late, it was about 6:30 pm when we left.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
1 out of 5
The food was absolutely horrible. I was extremely disappointed with the food. It was tasteless. I could not eat in the Main Dining Hall, because after my first meal, I was not satisfied. I am a diabetic, and it was hard to get a good meal. - Extremely Disappointed.
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
I did not use the pool, too cold. There were no climbing walls, and I did not find until later the fitness center. However, I did go to the casino and the arcade.
Entertainment
2 out of 5
None of the activities spoke to me to be involved in. There were no activities that were culturally diverse. Not good planning!!!
Children's Programs
I did not have children with me.
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
My cabin steward and one who assisted him was good, Ariel was his name, and the assistant was Sharon. And Viera, a server was just exceptional!
Extremely disappointed - there was no gangplank and we had to do a lot of walking. I was told the gangplank needed a part that was coming from Barcelona. That is unacceptable, should have a better work-around to accommodate boarding passengers who are differently able, and cannot walk long distances. Very Bad Planning!!!
I’m trying to understand what cultural thing you’re talking about —I’ve never seen anything that would be upsetting, unless you’re offended by the hairy chest competition. Sounds like you saw a commercial about cruising (hence the climbing wall comment), and booked. the food, I agree, everything could use more seasoning. That’s what the salt and pepper on the table is for. They are cooking for 3000+ people, not just for you. You also chose to sail on one of the older ships in the fleet. Do your homework next time.
