Review summary

It was a fun relaxing cruise and overall met expectations despite a few complaints. I would sail with Carnival again, but I like the Carnival Magic experience better.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
The embarkation process is a lot faster now that your room keys are issued on the ship and waiting for you in your room mailbox. I wish someone from the port had told me there was an elevator to use for my mom’s wheelchair. Instead, I pushed her up the multiple ramps which was challenging.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Most everything was tasty and fresh. The steaks were surprising tough, even my prime rib.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Sitting by pool. Love the adult only Serenity deck area! We also went to the casino, but I had to leave often to get fresh air. Smoking is allowed their at all times and my eyes often burned. On Princess CL they rotate smoking and non smoking nights in the casino (or at least they used to). Craft activity (card making). was sub par. We played Yahtzee in the game room. There were no score pads or even paper for it or Scrabble. On Scrabble game had no letter tiles.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The musics shows were typical.

Children's Programs

Didn’t have children with us this trip.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
They will only come 1 x a day to your cabin unless you specifically request twice. That was fine with us but we requested after 10 a.m. each day when asked to give a time, yet the cabin steward knocked on the door at 8:30 am and 9:00 a couple times to see if we were on a room. What was the point of asking a time? The staff were overall polite. The barista at the coffee place was especially friendly and genuine. The lady at the front desk of the spa was very unempatjetic when my mother became very distressed regarding multiple page health survey just to get a manicure. She offered no apology to me when I cancelled.

Ship Quality

1 out of 5
Very clean. Bathrooms need updating.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Bed so close to balcony door, it was hard to navigate around it to get outside, especially for my 85 year old mother. The slider whistled constantly when ship wn route.

Ship tip

Be prepared to provide your health history and medication list and complete a stress survey just for a darn manacure.

Ports of call

Grand Turk Island

5 out of 5
Beautiful beach and water. Easy access.

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

5 out of 5
Beautiful private beach. Food provided by crusiline.

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

3 out of 5
Only shopping by ship.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Excellent

We have sailed on the Pride many times, there is always a few small problems. But looking at the big picture, looking over a few minor problems it's always been a great vacation. But I strongly agree with you on the smoking in the casino, that is my number one complaint to Carnival, but it will never change. Just visit the casino early in the morning, stay away in the evening.

Glad you had a better trip than I did on my Pride cruise!
