Review summary

Overall it was a great vacation. Atlantis by far was the highlight. But the rest of the trip was great too.

Embarkation

There was a delay getting on the ship. But we were well informed and once we got to the terminal it moved along fairly well.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Lots of variety. We mainly ate at the buffet and the staff there were so very kind accommodating my daughter’s special dietary needs. When we went to the main dining room they were very kind there as well. And my filet was out of this world delicious!!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
They were having trouble with the pools. I don’t know what that was about but I didn’t feel I wanted to go swimming as I was never really hot when we were on the ship. Sitting in the sun was nice and we could always find chairs. We were compensated by carnival for the “inconvenience “. We did go on the water slides. That was really fun!! We went to the fitness center every day. It was clean and had enough equipment.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We went to the juggling show which was a riot!! And we went to one of the PG comedy shows which was so very funny. I give him a lot of credit as keeping it PG is sometimes difficult for comedians. We also went to the piano bar sing along. He was amazing! He knew every song people asked for. He was very personable and very engaging. We also enjoyed listening to the couple singing in the lobby every night.

Children's Programs

My daughter is 26 years old and we did not have any young children with us.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our room steward, Jefferson, was great! Our room was always clean and he left our towel animals for us every day. We got to take a picture of all of them together on the last day. It was sooooo cute. Like I said before the dining staff was awesome taking care of us. My daughter was able to eat the entire cruise and not get sick. She has a gluten allergy and this can be very challenging. The one man at the buffet, I wish I had gotten his name, was so kind. Even gave my daughter the number to call if she needed it. We did not end up using it as we could usually find him.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
It always amazes me how you can hardly put down an empty plate or cup without someone picking it up. They really do a great job.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our cabin was great. It was spacious and we had a large window. It was an obstructed view, so there was a lifeboat blocking the view, but you could see daylight and see how fast we were moving through the water. The temperature was comfortable. The beds were super comfortable as well as the pillows.

Ship tip

Don’t focus on what may be a hiccup in your trip. Make the best of it and remember you are on vacation!!

Ports of call

Baltimore, Maryland

We stayed at the Best western hotel and conference center. It was great! They have it set up so they take you to and from the cruise terminal and you can leave your car in their designated lot. They were very kind there. They also will shuttle you downtown and pick you up in the evening. That was a lot of fun.

Princess Cays (Cruise Line Private Island)

5 out of 5
We did not do an excursion. We have our own snorkel masks so we did that and laid on the beach. It was tough to find chairs in any shade at first. But we were able to find some. The food was great. And the fruit was outstanding!!! The tender back and forth went very smoothly.

Nassau, Bahamas

OMG best day EVER!!!!! We did the dolphin photo thing and Atlantis adventure park. It was sooooooo fun. We really got to do all the slides we wanted to do. The lines were not bad. We even did a couple of the slides twice.

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

4 out of 5
This would have been great but the weather did not cooperate. It rained and the water was choppy. We could not get in the water. It was beautiful though.

Disembarkation

This went so smoothly it was really great. Our bags were waiting for us right where they were supposed to be. And our shuttle back to the hotel was waiting for us so we hopped right on and were on the road so quickly. It was GREAT.
