Review summary

First cruise ever. Was reluctant but had an absolutely wonderful time. Will be cruising again for sure. Look forward to seeing many other places. Love everything about Carnival but it’s your people who sold me the most on coming back. They’re just great! Happy to cruise with Carnival exclusively.

Embarkation

It did take awhile in heat & humidity but it was due to passengers who did not show up and held up everyone else

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food was wonderful and the drinks were great - a bit expensive but that’s to be expected. The food in the main dining room was outstanding. Every meal was an experience and a work of art. Never ate so good. The selection was extensive and every night I was able to try something I never had before. Never ate anywhere but main dining room. Can’t believe any food could have been better and we looked forward to seeing our waiters each evening. The buffets were also terrific. Ate lunch and most breakfasts there. The people who worked the buffet area were awesome as well. Helpful, attentive and as always extremely friendly. Met one man in particular, Alexis. He was so very pleasant and nice.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
There was a variety of activities for most ages but my husband who is a 60+ year old man found few things to occupy this time at sea. We went to the casino, serenity area (which could be a bit bigger), shops and movies.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Enjoyed the music on board - the piano bar, the group at the Red Frog Pub, the music at the Atrium area, the different dance lessons, the deck parties were great with the DJ’s. The shows at the theatre were very good also. Very talented group of people.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
I believe this is the area where my group and myself were the most impressed. The service crew was outstanding. They were helpful, friendly always calling us by name, which is quite remarkable considering all the people they encounter. Our room was immaculate and done in a timely manner every day. Our stateroom steward, Fery, was always available and ready to help. Our waiters were the absolute best! They made us feel special, pampered and catered to our every wish or need. Loved the nightly entertainment in the dining room. Those waiters can do it all including dance and sing. They are so hard working yet had the ability to make it look easy and even fun. Huseyin, our head waiter, Xz and Putra played a large role in making our cruise special and making us want to cruise Carnival again.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
No complaints at all. Every time I looked around someone was wiping, scrubbing, mopping or cleaning some part of the ship. Everything everywhere was clean. No complaints about the layout. I was the only one in my group who liked the ships design/decor. It had an old world, elegant feel about it that I appreciated. The Taijj Mahal theatre was a bit gaudy for my taste.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
It was surprisingly roomy. Plenty of storage space and the bed was large and extremely comfortable. The bathroom was more than adequate with room for many toiletries. Loved the balcony. We opened up the divider between our room and other members of our group which gave us even more space. I have been in hotel room which were not much bigger. The room was perfectly clean with fresh towels and it was cleaned quickly every day. Very pleased!

Ship tip

Prepare to have a good time.

Left from Baltimore - no complaints

Grand Turk Island

Ship diverted due to medical emergency so we were unable to visit Grand Turk as originally planned. Disappointed but the trip was still wonderful. Visited Nassau instead and had a great time.

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

5 out of 5
Wish I could give 10 stars to this island. It was fabulous! A true piece of paradise! We rented a villa and had the best day ever. The water, the beauty, the music, the food, the villa, the fun - an incredible day. I only wish we could have had more time, maybe a second day. Fantastic!!!i

Freeport, Grand Bahama Island

Loved the way the shopping was right on the pier as you get off the boat. Did a glass bottom boat excursion. Saw many fish and sharks! Was worth the time and money. Enjoyed my time in Freeport.
