This is a very old boat. It caters to very old people.
Nasty cruise.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Baltimore has easy Parkin and easy access. Thank for doing the muster drill inside as it was freezing out in January
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
2 out of 5
Dining room experience good for breakfast and dinner. Staff pleasant. Loved the "try it" foods, rabbit, escargot, frog legs. I didn't love them all but enjoyed trying them
The buffets were messy, crowded and loud. Hard to find a table . Food was average at best....plentiful but mediocre.
Onboard Activities
1 out of 5
Bored to tears . Activities for the 7 year olds or 79 year olds...NOTHING to do between 8-10:30 that didn't involve money or drinking. Entertainment was passable but boring to hear the same 3 acts every night for a week. No variety. Comics not funny as they were aiming for a crowd with many kids/Dadjokes
Entertainment
1 out of 5
Old, average predictable. Motown mostly. Once you've seen one, you've seen them all.
Bored, bored, bored
Children's Programs
No kids
Service and Staff
3 out of 5
Michael was ok but did not know how the heat worked. Requested extra glasses and was told that I needed to call room service.
Took 3 days to get a crib for our room (grandchild) that was requested prior to booking
Roster in the spa was excellent!
Room service was prompt and cheerful
Bar tender inn the sports bar didn't want to take an order for wings since it would take at least 45 minutes. We were the only ones in the bar
Ship Quality
1 out of 5
Soooo terribly outdated and old and dusty. The ship has not been updated in years and looks like granny's parlor. Brocade and curvy sofas and chintz funeral curtains. Awful!
Knobs falling off dressers, doors that don't slide.
Please update this boat. It looks like a mortuary.
The graphics on the walls are nudes. Men with a fig leaf and lots of boobs. In this day and age, it is unnecessary and offensive. The nude women DO point the correct direction in the hallways however. Boobs in the elevator, boobs on the ceiling , huge nudes going down 4 floors in the glass elevator. That's a big fig leaf.
Horrible dated decor
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
Dated and a lot of bathroom caulking but roomy with lots of dressers and closets. Clean, fluffy bedding and very comfortable but feels like visiting granny's house? The lamps are yellow glass must
Grooms (really). The lights are each operated by at least 4 switches and dimmers. Good luck going to the bath room at night! The switch is Full ON!
Nice balcony and chairs. Bring a bungee chord to prop the door open as it will amputate you leg when it closes
Ship tip
Eat in the dining rooms... the buffets are full, messy and crowded.
Use room service. They are quick and cheerful.
The spa is great (ask for Roster)
The game room is full of games and puzzles; the library full of new good books
Fabulous.!!! Rented a $199 bungalow. It came with floats, 4 sets of snorkeling gear, reserved chaises, umbrellas and a shower. They brought a cooler of sodas, chips, salsa, Guacamole and sour cream and a huge plate of fresh fruit . Close to bathrooms and the bar b que. Airconditioned if you wanted to cool off.
Best $$ we spent on this trip! Private and away from the masses.
Note: one $199 bungalow is for 4 people NOT $199 each person.
Again best $$ we spent on the trip!.
Unless you go on an excursion, the town is dirty and scary. Not a place to stroll. We found a great bar ( Bacardi lifestyle) upstairs full of friendly people but dont expect ( as we did) a quaint village with nice cafes. The cruise lines make you go thru the gauntlet of tourist trap shops before you get out into the town and then the town is disappointing.
All of our e cursions were cancelled at the last minute by Carnival and we were not informed until we were out in the line to load. Waste of a day
The cute tourist village at the port was fun and lively.
We took a cab ( $90) and requested downtown. They took us to port Lucia which is just a tourist shopping area. Most of the shops were not open. They will only take you back when they have a full cab of 10 people.
I told them that I had wanted to go downtown and they said I didn't,
Tourist TRAP
Boat was late to port by 2 hours.
Carry your own luggage to get off earliest.
Daughter missed her connection as the disembarkation took sooooooo long.
Prepare to sit in a lobby for 3 hours minimum
I didn't mind the décor myself (not really my taste, but I wasn't on the ship long so I didn't mind). The ship was kind of dark though, especially at night, making it hard to see where you're going. I kept tripping over ramps and such, and I grant you, I am not the most graceful person, but not having a lot of light doesn't help either.
I'm sorry that your cruise did not rise above expectations and while it sounds like she could spend some time the yards, I'm looking forward to spending 7 days on her starting on the 11th. You can use ship tracker on this app and it doesn't surprise me there is some rust on her. Over the last month she was out of Baltimore every week. Carnival seems to be dedicated to upgrading its fleet, so I wouldn't be surprised if she went into the yards very soon.
I love the Pride. I'll be going on her in May. I do prefer to cruise in the spring or fall seasons. But I am retired and in my 60's, so I'm there for the food, drinks and trivia.
Oh wow..85 days...im going to cruise and enjoy the 7 days.i don't live there so how ever it's decorated is fine I see 98 percent beautiful reviews everything not for everybody.sorry for your experience 😞my #6 carnival Cruise in 85 days.first time on Pride.☝💖👙👒in spite of incidents..enjoy.life to short🌴🍷
My mother doesn't like the decor but I think it's interesting. I love the pride, sorry you didn't like it. I'm going her for the 3rd time in December! The more I cruise the more I like the older, smaller ships.
We just got back on 1/21 and really enjoyed the cruise but yiu are right decor is dated and shows were a miss. As far as all the boobs, i like the tatas
