Review summary

I really liked the ship's décor.  The Renaissance paintings (prints) in the passageways were soothing.  The dining room décor was elegant.  The stewards and waiters were excellent.  I received both morning and evening steward service.  My ice bucket was always filled.

I'm a big fan of comedienne Diane Ford.  She was great.  The music and dancing shows were sub-par.  I'm no musical expert, so if it sounds off-key to me, it's probably way off key.  I actually walked out of a couple of shows.  Also, on two of the nights, there were no musical shows and no comedians.  Just Hasbro the Game Show, or Men vs. Women.  Kind of lame entertainment-wise.

The cruise director didn't do much for me.  Never saw him in the passageways.  He seemed to just go through the motions.  His only announcements were to hawk stuff.  No sense of humor, nothing special.

Trivia was OK, but they have a lot of very specific trivia, e.g. Big Bang Theory, Friends, Golden Girls, etc.  I prefer General Trivia.  They had some General Trivia, but most of these occurred while I was on excursions.

The Carnival private beach/snorkeling excursion in Roatan was excellent.  They also take care of injured animals at the site, such as birds, large cats and monkeys there. Lunch was included.

Overall, it was a nice, relaxing cruise.  Chose to go single this time around.  Carnival sat 6 of us singles together at the dinner table, and we had a blast.

The cabin wound up being an obstructed view. I had no indication of this when I booked it. Could not see anything to the right side. There was a 6-foot deep wall there. There are quite a few obstructed view cabins on this ship. I booked through , without a Travel Agent. Learned my lesson.

Ship tip

There are quite a few obstructed view cabins on this ship. Book through a Travel Agent.

The Cruise Director was "Steve".  Apprently, he's been doing it for 19 years, the longest active Carnival Cruise Director.
